Gorgeous property. Attentive staff. Three pools in addition to the multiple suites that have private pools. Breakfasts are excellent. Walkable on the beach to other restaurants and bars. Feels like a very secure property. Staff recognized us when we saw them in town.

Really a five star hotel….caring staff from check in to check out. Delicious food. Excellent service all around. Clean, prompt service any time. Friendly and helpful staff. Cannot say enough to do the vacation at the Thompson justice. Expensive but worth it.

My husband and I spent 5 days at the Thompson Zihuatanejo and would definitely stay again if and when we return. The hotel property and rooms are gorgeous, the staff was kind, and we felt very safe and welcomed there. There are a lot of nice places along the beach and in the surrounding area to visit, but I honestly did not want to leave the property because I was so comfortable and happy there. Truly the only downside I can think of is that this property is not adults-only, so if you're near the family pool as we were, you may hear a lot of noisy kids during the day but that didn't bother us at all. The evenings were very peaceful and quiet.

Thompson Zihuatanejo gave us an amazing experience from start to finish. The rooms were top notch, the staff were beyond welcoming/accommodating, and the views were unlike anything I have seen before! Although tricky to get to from our original location, it was worth every layover and minute of travel. We were relaxed for the entirety of our trip and can't thank the staff enough for all they do - especially Saul and Francisco. We hope to be back soon!

If relaxation is what you are looking for then look no further! Amazing property on a beautiful, swimmable beach. Walking distance to a few beach restaurants and even walking distance to town for the more adventurous. We took cabs for 100 pesos each way which felt very safe and easy. Food at the hotel is excellent and the staff, in particularly on the beach are the best!

We stayed one night at the Thompsom and enjoyed a wonderful experience. The staff was so attentive, the rooms were beautifully appointed and well-supplied, the landscaping was lush and well-maintained, food was fabulous! We even received a lovely welcome note next to a dish with remarkable sweets.

We stay at the Thompson a couple times a year and keep returning because it is by far the best place to stay on Playa la Ropa. The beachfront is perfect, the rooms are comfortable and always clean and the staff is absolutely the very best! There are three members of the staff that deserve our very highest praise because they always make our stay extra special: Ediberto, Alex and Francisco! We are already looking forward to our next visit in February.

The hotel is right on La Rope beach and is well laid out with great amenities. Staff are top notch. Food - especially the breakfast - is excellent. The grounds have a very tropical feel and the stonework in the pathways is a nice touch.

An absolutely superb 4 day stay. Beautiful property and facilities. Food and drinks delectable. Francis Mallmann bbq was epic. Highly recommended. Make sure you book not stop flights if you're coming in from LA!

The Thompson is not only located at the prime location, the hotel, vibe amenities were definitely 5 star! Our room was great and the FOOD was incredible! We actually came back the next week (couldn't get a room bc the entire hotel was rented out for a wedding, but we ate dinner there again- sorry Hilton!)
