We stayed for one day and we loved it. I would definitely come back. If you don’t like a lot of children then this is not the place for you, but if you don’t mind, like us, I’d recommend. It’s a great time.

Location is good, only 25 minutes from airport. Rooms are very outdated, but clean. Pretty good food, but repetitive, and no so many choices. Same for beverages. Waiters don't care so much about guests. Nice day/night entertainment. Lots of persistent vendors, especially on the beach. Don't buy excursion from them even if they are cheaper than from your representative. The quality is poorer. Overall, it was OK, but I will not return.

We had a wonderful stay at Sunscape Coco Punta Cana! From the moment we arrived, everything was enjoyable. The resort has a beautiful atmosphere, the grounds are well maintained, and there are plenty of amenities and activities to make the most of your vacation. One of the biggest highlights was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and always willing to help. The service really made a difference throughout our stay, and we felt genuinely welcomed. The food was very good overall, with a nice variety of options, and we particularly enjoyed the restaurants and the breakfast experience. The rooms were comfortable, the property was clean, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy our vacation. We travelled as a family with our little one, and it was a very enjoyable experience. There was a great balance between relaxation, good service, and things to do. Overall, we had a fantastic vacation and would happily consider coming back. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay such a pleasant experience!

Staffs were not friendly and welcoming. We felt like the hotel is more welcoming to people of color. The property was nice and very clean. We had a lot of issues with the room we received, broken bed, leaking bathroom roof. Food was not great. Tony from the main buffet restaurant was very welcoming, he make sure that we were always ok.

I do not recommend this hotel. The shower dripped all night and the jacuzzi and the TV did not work - we paid extra to be in this room. The staff acted as if they were being bothered to do their job. We left after the first night to go to another hotel.

We just returned from a one week stay at Sunscape COCO. We enjoyed the trip, it was budget friendly and the quality met our expectations. We enjoyed the benefits of the SUN CLUB (VIP) experience and would highly recommend this option if staying. The staff was friendly and hospitality was good. Food was good and there were many options. The buffet was typical all inclusive buffet. The Tiki Taco and Tapanachi were a great treat. We also enjoyed the upgraded dinner on the beach which was a nice addition to an already amazing week. The rooms and grounds were clean and the SPA was a huge hit. There are some truly friendly staff that go above and beyond Katerin at the VIP beach bar was the best and all were very accomodating and friendly. It would be nice if some staff had better english but it worked. The staff in the gift shop were the only ones that set a weird tone. There is so much to do and see and eat at this location a one week stay with a few scheduled excursions was a perfect combination of fun and relaxation.

Trust the reviews. I was so sick for 3 days!!! Kids gone wild on the weekends is an understatement. Club level is a joke and anyone can use the pool. Club level does NOT deliver what is promised at all!! When you tell club check in your concerns they just say sorry and do nothing. I left the hotel 3 days early it was so bad.

The rooms were clean but musty smelling. The food was good. We upgraded to Sun Club to get the “premium” alcohol and none of the Sun Club bars had it. We literally had to fight with management to get mid-shelf alcohol (absolute, Tito’s). When they finally stocked the bar, there was one bottle of each flavored vodka and when it was gone, they did not restock it. Also, we paid the extra money to get the better alcohol but we saw no control over other areas of the resort coming to our area and being able to drink it. They pride themselves on not using bracelets but, honestly, I would rather wear a bracelet and get what I paid for than not.

This was the formal complaint I personally made to Hyatt Inclusive Collection. Sunscape Coco Punta Cana is not a place I'd recommend. My name is James Murphy, and I am writing this as a deeply dissatisfied guest and as a professional travel advisor. I recently booked a stay at the Sunscape Coco resort in Punta Cana to celebrate a major milestone: my mother’s 70th birthday. Based on public marketing, I understood the property was acquired by Hyatt in 2023 and had undergone a $25 million renovation. Given the promotional photos, I expected a well-maintained, modern experience. Unfortunately, the actual condition of the resort fell drastically short of these expectations. While the lobby and grounds are well-kept, the rooms we were assigned felt entirely untouched since 1999. They are heavily dated, poorly maintained, and absolutely do not reflect a multi-million-dollar renovation. I have outlined the specific failures, misrepresentations, and highlights of our stay below: Inaccurate Property Information: Prior to arrival, my brother explicitly called to confirm the availability of elevators on-site. He was assured they were available, but upon arrival, we discovered there were none. Because my mother cannot consistently climb stairs, they had to be placed on the first floor to accommodate her physical needs. Room Conditions & Lack of Maintenance: The initial rooms were unacceptably dated and lacked proper cleanliness. Furthermore, the sink in my room was completely stopped up and took hours to drain. Despite reporting this, no maintenance staff ever arrived to fix it. Substandard Front Desk Service: Housekeeping and front desk responsiveness was virtually non-existent. After requesting basic washcloths and never receiving them, we were forced to leave the resort to purchase our own at a local mall. Misleading Amenities & Food Variety: Online materials advertised 24-hour food availability, which was not provided. Multiple restaurants were closed on rotating days, and the daily selection at the main buffet (Windows) was highly repetitive and disappointing. Furthermore, promotional perks promised through our Funjet Vacations bookings were never delivered to either room. Staff Language Barriers: While we recognize and respect that the resort operates in a Spanish-speaking nation, a hospitality property of this scale catering to an international clientele must ensure that frontline customer service staff possess functional English proficiency to resolve guest issues effectively. The Saving Grace of Our Stay I must explicitly commend a gentleman named Tony at the buffet. His hospitality was absolutely next-level. Tony went completely out of his way to ensure my mother felt celebrated on her 70th birthday, providing a warmth and level of service that made him feel like family. Outside of the resort's beautiful grounds, Tony was the single reason our stay remained tolerable. Resolution & Adjustments After my brother and I escalated our complaints to the concierge desk, my wife and I were moved to an oceanfront room. While it offered a great view and was cleaner, it remained incredibly dated. My mother and brother were moved to the member side, which was also cleaner but equally outdated. As a travel advisor, this was one of the worst vacation experiences I have encountered. Because of the misleading online representation and systemic operational failures, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this or other Hyatt/Sunscape properties to my clients. I strongly advise corporate management to deploy undercover quality-assurance teams to audit this facility and experience firsthand how guests are being treated. Given the significant gap between what was advertised and what was delivered—alongside the out-of-pocket expenses we incurred for basic amenities—I request a formal review of this matter and an appropriate financial compensation or credit for both booking references. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution. Sincerely, James Murphy
