Galeries Lafayette

This impressive building houses the seat of rule of the State of Qatar.  Built in the 18th century, this building became a military fort for the Ottomans when they arrived in Qatar. After their departure, in 1915 the sitting ruler of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim reclaimed and restored this building and declared it the seat of rule of Qatar’s rulers.

Amiri Diwan

Thought-provoking historical masterpieces are on display here, some dating as far back as the 7th century; this is a truly unique place to visit. A whole day out to this museum is a very realistic prospect, with libraries for adults and children, a café, workshops and a park next door, the whole family will be entertained.

The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ)

Built-in 1927 this fort had the sole purpose of protecting the nearby Souq Waqif by housing a police station. In recent years the use of this building has been to showcase 20th-century Qatari architecture through its stunning design and housing a cultural museum.

Al Koot Fort (Doha Fort)

Bin Jelmood House, sheds light on historical slavery and how it spread across civilizations. Radwani house showcases the evolvement of a traditional Qatari family.
