Location was good. The actual hotel experience was not. Hotel is old and dirty. The customer service was not helpful. We booked two rooms for our larger family and asked for connecting rooms. Called again in advance to make sure. Were told to call the morning of check in. Called in the morning and was told they don’t have available connecting rooms, and that we should have requested earlier. They didn’t bother adding any notes. We’re told they can’t even give us two rooms on same floor and we are free to find a different hotel on our own. Very frustrating. After sharing our frustration, they did manage to find two rooms next to each other, although not connected. So it appeared they were so lazy they couldn’t be bothered to check. The hall floors were covered in horrible stains, dirt. The lobby was outdated and sloppy compared to the (many many) other hyatts we stayed at. The Placery furniture was so worn out, benches were ripped. Rooms were clean and functional. Window was very small, with a bad view. Overall we do not recommend this hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt in Georgetown for a few nights of this trip and it was a world of difference. From the atmosphere to the staff. Wish we never switched.

We are sorry that coordinating adjacent rooms for your family became such a frustrating part of your arrival. Having to call again after you had already checked in advance is understandably disappointing. Your comments about the service and the property’s upkeep have been shared with the teams responsible for each area. We appreciate you taking the time to explain what went wrong.

    Not great go somewhere else.

The room had ants. The bathroom door would not shut. looks like there was a flood and they never cleaned the carpet afterward. The paint on the walls was bubbling from water damage. TV channels are not very basic. Not channels for children. Rooms are very small. With the hide a bed out there is no room. Bathroom door would not shut. For how much this hotel is it felt like a super 8.

    Facedressing

The location is fantastic and the overall feel of hotel is very good. The room, lobby, and all other areas were clean. The problem is that although the hotel appears new, it seems to be face-dressing. The guts of the hotel are old and need work. The A/C did not work well, the toilet would get stuck, and the showerhead was awful.

The location clearly worked well for your visit, and we appreciate your kind note about the hotel’s welcoming feel. It is good to know your room and the shared areas were clean. The maintenance concerns you encountered in your room are frustrating, particularly when the property looks newer. Your comments about the in-room maintenance have been shared with our engineering team. We appreciate you taking the time to describe what worked and what could have been better.

Worse Hyatt Hotrl I have stayed in 25 years.

A Hyatt gold passport member for more than 2 decades. Upon arrival, standard cordial greeting but no extra bit. Gave me two tiny bottles of water and I went up. Upon arrival, the room was dark and dingy, luckily a window the size of a bathroom door provided some much needed natural light. For a while I thought this was the standard design. Everything within the space screams “CHEAP” and not quite cheerful. Granted this is Hyatt Place, but it feels like a 2 star hotel in the middle of Italy, in a bad way. Since I was in DC Z for a friend’s funeral, I was not in a mood to argue during this occasion. I don’t need you to go all the way for special treatment of bigger room, but a near windowless space facing the rear plant space is more for your chambermaids, not for your guests.

    Aweful experience

The hotel itself is good. However, the room was very noisy throughout the night. It sounded like someone was working through the night with machines. They were dropping things and hitting the walls from time to time. I don't recommend anyone staying at this hotel.

    Family Wedding

Very positive experience in a clean and modern hotel in a great location for sightseeing and restaurants. We had several rooms of family for a wedding at a venue next door to the Hyatt Place. The front desk was very accommodating especially Camille. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. The rooms were spacious and clean. There was a fun rooftop bar. Would recommend.

    Worst Hyatt hotel in DC

Had a terrible experience at this hotel. The room I had was in very bad shape. Carpets very dirty, scratched and had a smell of urine. Power outlet sockets were loose and would not hold the charger. Yellow Stains on the ceiling in the bathroom, chipped toilet seat, leaking shower head. Low water pressure in the shower and sinks. AC was loud and barely working it took about 4hr to go from 72 to 70. Breakfast bar trays were mostly empty felt like hotel ether did not have enough chefs or food. Make sure to bring your own water since hotel charges $5 for each water bottles placed on the table.

I just went to DC to do a food trip. Just wanted to eat good food and stay somewhere nice. And it was very exceptional.

It was nice. Did not spend much time at the hotel. Clean and the staff was nice. Centrally located near fine dinning and got to all the monuments within 10 mins.

Dated and blah, but excellent service

First off: the staff was fabulous. Everything else was a let-down, from the 11th floor corridor reeking of eau de cannabis, to the initial room we were given smelling of sewage, to the $5 charge for water that appeared on my self-checkout bill for no reason (and which I’m sure many people might miss). I didn’t expect the Ritz, but this establishment is dated and not very nice. Hyatt should give every single member of the staff a massive raise as they are the ones standing between a mediocre stay and a disaster.

    Not a good experience unfortunately!

Room was terrible as window was to the alley and can see junk. Support beam right next to quen bed so hard to get out. Text to hotel not responded to. No work light on desk in room. Light switch next to bed did not work well.

Hyatt? More like a clean Holiday Inn

More like a Holiday Inn than a Hyatt. Breakfast was awful in several regards. There were very few amenities. The staff was excellent…every one of them. Location was good. Near 2 Metros. The beds were very comfortable and it was clean. But hotel was so expensive, based on the Hyatt name, i assume

Pleasant Stay with Great Customer Service

I had a pleasant stay overall. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated the option for early/late check-in. The only issue I noticed was that the hallway carpet on the 11th floor did not appear to be very clean. Aside from that, I had a good experience and would consider staying here again.

Great location, short walk to everything in DC, clean, a little dated and old, AC in the lobby could be better, the personnel at the evning/night was very slow. Next door is a gentelman club (pride/lgbtqxxxxxx) if you don't like... breakfast was $11/person which is pretty ok price but we didn't purchase it since we're not really breakfast eaters. You can hear the sirens but it's DC so it was expected. free wifi, rooftop facing K street and north (not the WH/mall). everything in the room was kind of old and the AC didn't really cool down the room as much as expected although we had the shades down and low degree all day. Complimantary coffee in the morning, but we got there when they were preparing and the staff had attitude and pretty rude. Michael at the frontdesk was very nice, so was the security guy.
