Great property; great value
Beautiful and unique property. Rooftop bar is huge and well-appointed. If I ever return to Knoxville, I’ll happily stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in great location
We had an incredible stay at this Hyatt property in Knoxville. The location is absolutely amazing and put us within perfect walking distance of so many fantastic local spots, making exploring the area completely effortless. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels distinctly glamorous. The lobby area and the lobby bar are beautifully designed, incredibly pretty, and offer a warm, welcoming energy right away. The real standout, however, is the top-notch rooftop bar. The attention to detail is stunning, featuring gorgeous furniture and a sophisticated color scheme. The outdoor portion of the rooftop was exceptionally comfortable and cool, providing the perfect ambiance to unwind. We will absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Knoxville!

Our Favorite Hyatt Place Property
The hotel is situated in an excellent location, being located on Gay Street, which is the main street in Knoxville. Plenty of good restaurants can be found on this street, which was convenient for when it came time to get something to eat. The hotel is about a 20-25 minute walk to the University of Tennessee, where you can find more restaurants. Neyland stadium is also in walking distance as well. Parking is free on the weekends in the State Street parking garage, which is behind the hotel. There's a bridge that takes you from the 3rd level of the parking garage straight to Gay Street. We'd recommend parking yourself and making the quick walk to the hotel to save money on valet.

If you're in Knoxville, you need to stay here!
I have stayed at MANY Hyatt Places, all over the country. This by far was the best of all of them. The staff was very friendly, they even walked us to the elevator after check in. The lobby and rooftop are absolutely beautiful and the room sizes were generous. Would definitely stay here again, definitely recommend!

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was included in our rare. Rooftop bar is excellent place to hang out. We have stayed here about 6 times and always has a very good experience.

Best Hyatt House!
Hands down the best Hyatt Place I’ve ever stayed at! Friendly staff, cool vibe of the hotel and rooftop bar as well as the downtown location. My room was huge with a separate living area and kitchenette. I’m a Globalist and travel all over. Looking forward to staying here again!

Great location, excellent service!
First time visiting our child at UT Knoxville. The Hyatt is in a great location - an easy 25 ish walk to the stadium and campus. About a 10-minute drive if you prefer not to walk. Surrounded by great restaurants and enjoyed solid recommendations from the staff. The staff was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. Will no doubt make this our home away from home when visiting our new VOL!

Loved it
We stayed here for the first time and loved it! We were greeted by the front desk associate Eden, who was a true professional and so very kind. What a great start to a great vacation

Great hotel and location! Staff is awesome
Great hotel and location. Nice lobby bar and rooftop bar. Standard breakfast included, but not great. Plenty of restaurants to walk to and other activities. Recommend this hotel.

Black Families Deserve the Same Hospitality
The staff was pleasant via text when we were in route, however from the moment we arrived as a black family, the interactions and service completely shifted. The valet guy didn’t assist or acknowledge us until I approached him and requested information. They typically meet you at the car, open the door and are friendly in general. Not the case. The front desk staff were less than personable and just awkward as if they had never spoken to black people before. The interaction was beyond cold. Then we went up to the roof top bar thinking we were going to order drinks and appetizers and relax before getting back on the road the next morning but instead the hosts all of a sudden stated the bar area was full and they needed to check it after escorting two other couples prior to us to their seats. I saw outside the window many free spaces that were not reserved. When they returned they were whispering to one another and one of them asked the other after she told her to take us to our seats “do you want to” with her head down and quietly speaking. I asked the hostess that walked us to the door what that was about and she blew me off and pointed outside. After sitting there uncomfortable, I took my two kids and left. Then we went to the lounge inside the hotel by the lobby area. The bartender was standing in the walkway greeting people and as I approached he went behind the bar, didn’t speak or anything. I sat the kids down and asked if there was a menu, he coldly replied and then went back to chatting and laughing with the white couple at the bar. After sitting unacknowledged AGAIN but for 15 mins this time and watched him asked the couple if they were hanging out for awhile before disappearing, we left again. It was a very alienating experience to the point my husband was prepared to drive home in the middle of the night because at some point our safety is questionable due to not being welcomed. We shouldn’t have to prove that our money is just as valuable as every other person lodging at this property, to be accepted. It is clear that this is something deeply engrained in the culture of that area as it extended beyond the hotel experience. The ONLY kind person we experienced was Eden as I checked out the next morning. It is a sad reality that in the 21st century people still view blacks as less than or unworthy. It’s 2026 yall! I will be reporting this experience higher as well.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that aspects of your stay left you feeling that you were not treated with the level of care and communication we expect from our team. We have carefully reviewed the concerns you raised. While we recognize that there were communication issues and opportunities for our team to handle certain interactions better, we did not find that race or appearance played a role in the treatment you received. We take concerns about discrimination very seriously and would never want a guest to feel unwelcome or treated differently for any reason. We appreciate your feedback regarding communication, and we are using it as an opportunity to reinforce our expectations with our team. We regret that your experience did not meet the standard of service we strive to provide.
Budget Experience High End Prices
Disappointed. For a higher end hotel with prices to match, it was ridiculous to have in room thermostats with a motion sensor to toggle the AC off! To make it worse, the thermostat is placed between the beds and a short pony wall so that it was blocked from "seeing motion". Cutting corners on AC when we paid for two nights more than a monthly car payment is atrocious. The $119/night Comfort Inn on the trip to Knoxville had cold AC with no sensor. Returning to a hot room from being out in the heat during the day is unacceptable. The parking garage a bit of a walk as well. They should offer a free golf cart shuttle at least or you are stuck paying valet. The sheets were stiff and uncomfortable as well.

Lovely restoration of the Farragut Hotel.
Lovely historic hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff. Even late at night, they responded right away when we realized our a/c was not functioning well and immediately gave us a new room. Very nice continental breakfast with a beautiful historic dining area/lobby. Very nice stay.

would not stay here again
Nice hotel but service was terrible. Was not told the valet they contracted with charged $50 per night. I should not have been charged as a WOH globalist. Had to call to get refund when I saw a charge on my credit card. Front desk receptionist must have been having a terrible day because she barely said two things to me -- license and here is your key. No greeting at all. Roof top bar not very busy. Great atmosphere but let down by the horrible service. Hostess referred to me and my daughter as "those people" and despite multiple servers and a not very busy night did not get acknowledged at all for 20 minutes so we left and went elsewhere. AM breakfast is what you would get at an airport hotel. Hotel overall is nice, clean, good location but would not stay here again.

THE Best Place to Stay in Knoxville
We love Knox and the Hyatt’s Place Downtown location is THE best - walk to Market Square. Walk to Old City. Walk down Gay. Walk to any game. It’s THE best spot in Knox and a solid hotel with the Farragut bldg and the 5:30 club. *Fun fact - The SEC was created in this hotel.
