The overall experience was outstanding. 1. Room is big and clean as the other PLACE. 2. Front desk staff was really kind and brought us the same type but upper level as he knew we wanted a quiet place before taking the flight. 3. Location was close to the SFO airport, around 20 mins driving. 4. Breakfast is the best one. 5. Garage makes us feel safe
Great stay ina comfortable hotel
We had a great stay here. We were attending a wedding and there were rooms reserved for attendees . The hotel got us a room with our preferences -lower floor, away from elevator. There is a modestly priced parking lot attached to the hotel and some street parking too. he breakfast buffet had a lot of choice and was enjoyable. Our room was clean and spacious enough for the two of us. We enjoyed our stay
Best seen in 15 years for budget friendly hotel
Great breakfast choice the fruits diversity added a nice touch. Tea selection great, friendly staff and super clean rooms
a great home away from home place to stay in the Bay Area!
This is a great place to stay when you are in the Bay Area and need a home away from home type hotel. The location is convenient and the rooms are of a generous size. Service is prompt and they also offer a daily breakfast buffet – a wide choice of breakfast items is available. Beds are comfy, too!
Excellent hotel
Very clean and neat, nice room, good breakfast, good location, helpful staff. Underground parking is available. Overall great experience.

A/C Has Issues
Hotel was generally quite clean but the tub could have been updated a bit. The main issue was the A/C. It would repeatedly turn off and getting it to go back on was unclear. I repeatedly would turn it on/off and even though the temperature was above what it was set at, the fan would not turn on. Very annoying for sleeping
Hyatt San marcos
Rooms were clean, amenities were nice with decent sized gym and the breakfast included was pretty good in regards to variety and quality. The only thing is the front desk staff did poor in explaining the charges I noticed on my credit card which caused some concern that I was being over charged by $500 plus dollars. I had to talk to 3 different staff members before I got a clear explanation.
Awesome and felt at home.
Excellent room, awesome service and close to incredible eatery. Water pressure was excellent. The complimentary body soap, shampoo and conditioner is top notch.
Weekend stay!
Good location and very clean rooms! Very friendly staff. Breakfast and coffee exceeded expectations. Near shopping center(s) and charging stations too!

Definitely recommend staying here
The rooms are spacious, well maintained. Location is close several restaurants. Breakfast has a lot of variety of hot and cold food with fresh fruits and pastries. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Kim at front desk.

Best hotel for the San Mateo Event Center Events
Another great stay at the Hyatt! The room was very clean, and the location is perfect—just minutes from the San Mateo Event Center. We’ve stayed here multiple times, and the staff always makes us feel recognized and welcomed, which we really appreciate. Breakfast was ready right on time in the morning, which made our day easy to start. The team here is amazing, and the EV charging stations are a huge plus for us. This has definitely become our go-to hotel whenever we’re in the area!

Great clean friendly place to stay. Paid parking not necessary plenty around the hotel during our stay if you choose not to. Staff is very helpful and assisted with all of our requests

Clean and Great Breakfast ( better than other Hyatts in the area) but not DOG FRIENDLY --- even for SERVICE DOGS
Clean. Great breakfast but I felt customer service could improve. Also, I have a service dog and the first comment when I entered was " WE ARE NOT DOG FRIENDLY", oh did you tell us about your dog!" I did, but I dont have to advise as by law my dog can go anywhere. Then I was charged 200 dollars ( should be returned after I leave) which is a heavy deposit for a person with a service dog. The other HYATTS in the Northern CA area and around the world have NEVER EVER been so disrespectful of my service dog. She has traveled the globe with me on business. This SAN CARLOS CA management needs to train their service staff better and make them aware of the laws and needs of people with disabilities.
Hyatt Place San Carlos
As a Hyatt Globalist member, I stay at a wide range of Hyatt properties, and Hyatt Place San Carlos continues to be my preferred choice whenever I travel to the San Francisco area. The location is extremely convenient, close enough to SFO for easy airport access, and well positioned for trips into downtown San Francisco. It strikes a great balance between accessibility and comfort. The property is consistently very clean and quiet, which I truly value. From the guest rooms to the lobby and even the public restrooms, everything smells fresh and well maintained. That attention to detail makes a noticeable difference. The breakfast area is not very large, but it is always clean and well organized, and the food quality is excellent. The gym is also clean and well equipped — perfectly adequate for a solid workout while traveling. They also offer EV charging on property. While the pricing may be slightly higher than some public charging stations, the convenience of charging your vehicle overnight while you sleep is truly priceless. For business travelers especially, that level of convenience adds tremendous value. As I approach Lifetime Globalist status, I find myself less focused on large, high-profile branded properties and more drawn to cozy, quiet hotels that simply deliver a consistently comfortable experience. For me, Hyatt Place San Carlos always meets that expectation. Whenever I visit San Francisco, this remains my go-to property. Danny Lee

Lots of amenities and convenient location
All the amenities of a Hyatt Place (breakfast, in room coffee machine and fridge) in a convenient location with nice friendly staff

Modern and very clean
This is a very modern and clean hotel. My wife and I have stayed here multiple times when visiting friends in San Carlos/Redwood City.
Ok for a night or two for business
Clean room but very basic. Service and breakfast were mediocre—don’t expect much. Not much else to say about this hotel

Amazing staff, clean
I’ve stayed there many times on business trips and the staff is always exceptional, the rooms are clean, and it’s in a nice neighborhood.
