Established in 1905 by Zhang Jian, a well-known figure in Nantong, the Nantong Museum was the first public museum in China. It was recognized as a key cultural relic under state protection in 1988 and later became one of the first state-level museums in 2008. Originally consisting of three main buildings showcasing various specimens, historical artifacts, and fine art pieces, the museum also features a botanical garden that enhances the overall ambiance. Today, covering an area of 70,000 square meters, the museum is a blend of old and new structures that seamlessly integrate its rich cultural heritage with a beautiful environment. It offers visitors a chance to explore the history and culture of Nantong, combining historical elegance with modern era grandeur.

Nantong Yan

The Nantong Blue Calico Museum was established in 1997 by Wu Yuanxin, a renowned expert in Chinese arts and crafts. It is the first museum in China dedicated to blue calico, encompassing everything from collection, exhibition, research, through to production. The museum houses over ten thousand pieces of exceptional folk art and images, and has published volumes showcasing the complete collection of decorative patterns of China Blue Calico. In 2005, it was designated as the China Art Inheritance Base of Blue Calico by the China Folk Artist Association, and in 2006, the dyeing technique of Nantong Blue Calico was included in the national intangible cultural heritage protection list.

Nantong Blue Calico Museum

Situated in the heart of Nantong, a renowned historical and cultural city in China, the Haohe River is a well-preserved moat city that dates back to the Zhou Dynasty in 958. Referred to as the "Emerald Necklace of Nantong," this river covers an area of 3.23 square kilometers and boasts stunning natural landscapes, a thriving ecosystem, as well as a range of cultural artifacts. Recognized as a national AAAAA tourist destination, the area includes top attractions such as the China Abacuses Museum, a Buddhist culture exhibition hall, China Audit Museum, South Park, City God Temple, Huanxi Culture Square, Yiyuan Peninsula Resort, a bonsai park, Nantong Museum, and Haoxi Academy.

Haohe Scenic Area

The Nantong Forest Safari Park is a vast tourism destination that offers a variety of attractions, including a circus, dining options, and leisure facilities. Zao Hai Yu Shi

Langshan Scenic Area is a provincial scenic spot in Jiangsu and a national AAAA-level tourist destination. Situated on the northern coast of the Changjiang River, six kilometers south of Nantong City, it consists of five mountains: Junshan Mountain, Jianshan Mountain, Langshan Mountain, Ma'anshan Mountain, and Huangnishan Mountain. The total planned area is approximately 11.27 square kilometers. These mountains rise straight from the ground on the vast plain by the river and sea, creating a striking sight resembling five green emeralds embedded in the Yangtze River. Known for its exceptional landscape, Langshan is renowned for its natural water bonsai.
