Good Hotel if all you need is a bed and shuttle to Dulles.
Staff at the Hyatt Place Dulles Herndon East were great. The shuttle was timely and drivers friendly. Front desk staff was very efficient and helpful. The room we had was large, but dated. Room Issues: They used old style window A/C units that were located next to the bed. I had air blowing across me while I tried to sleep. if I turned it off, it got hot (August Visit). Closet in Bathroom area unusable do to broken door. Hotel Issue: Only 1 of 2 elevators worked. The broken elevator had been out of service for 2 or more weeks (info from other guests). The touted restaurant was not a restaurant at all. It was a microwave place. Strangely their were signs in the room saying it was a good place to eat. The public areas were not lit in the evening and were not good for any social interaction.

Go elsewhere
Terrible, don’t go. Pm staff was lazy and not responsive to needs. There are other hotels to book in the area that are better

Bed and room were comfortable. Good breakfast. Close walk to the train station. Shuttle driver was so nice and helpful. Excellent Irish Pub restaurant within walking distance.

Good price for room and park and fly
Our room was spacious and big enough for all 5 of us to get a good nights rest before our international flight. Being able to affordably park our car was a bonus.

Happy Customer
Very nice hotel located just 2 blocks from a Metro station. The staff at the front desk were very helpful with restaurant suggestions and information on the area. Will stay here again.

Ok room. Bad breakfast, pricing, and service
This location price gouges, I stayed here after a 2am flight cancellation, and since I was unable to check price and availability online at that late of a check-in time, I took an uber to the hotel to ask if they had a room and get the pricing. I had tried calling the hotel directly, and got sent on a circle of robo agents before they hung up and sent me a text link to chat, which took forever. I had checked their pricing earlier in the evening as there was some bad weather and it was previously 5000 points, but by the time I checked in at 2am, they were charging $240+tax and there were no point options. I would have been able to book a room for the next night around $120+tax, so double the price because I'm desperate at that hour and they aren't sold out, shameful. Breakfast was very minimal and did not taste good. Only 1 elevator was working while I stayed here. The airport shuttle ends at 11:45, so if you arrive late or have a cancellation you are on your own.

Skip this Hyatt
I know the difference between luxury and utility. When I book a Hyatt Place near an airport, I’m not expecting the St. Regis—I’m expecting clean sheets, competent staff, and a soft landing before or after a long flight. That’s the entire point of this brand. And yet, the Hyatt Place Dulles fails at even that. So thoroughly, in fact, that I’m left wondering: does Hyatt corporate even know this place exists? Or worse—do they know and simply don’t care? This hotel isn’t just disappointing. It’s broken. Nearly everything that could go wrong did, and it wasn’t just me. I overheard multiple guests complaining. Two different groups even asked me if I was having the same issues. That’s never happened before. Ever. 1. Check-In: Chaos. One frazzled staffer struggling alone while others stood idle. When help arrived, she speed-recited a script so fast I couldn’t catch a word. No greeting, no clarity. I never got the Wi-Fi password—just guessed it. 2. The Room: Torn sheets. One towel. Not a typo—one towel. A fridge that wouldn’t drop below 48°F (I travel with a thermometer for exactly this reason). A broken hairdryer that took 45 minutes and two phone calls to replace. The night clerk’s excuse? “I didn’t think it was expedient enough.” Truly remarkable. 3. Elevator: One broken, stuck between floors with doors wide open all three days. A fitting metaphor for the place: stalled, broken, and unsafe. 4. Staff: Indifferent at best, actively rude at worst. No welcome, no care, no help. 5. Cleanliness: My room was clean. The hallways? Not so much. Wet floors marked with signs but never actually mopped. I slipped—thankfully not badly—but again, not near the pool, just in a random hallway. 6. Parking: $12.50 per night to park in what is essentially the hotel’s own driveway. This isn’t New York or San Francisco. It’s Dulles. This isn’t a clever revenue stream—it’s corporate desperation. And no, I don’t care about the money. I care what it says: that Hyatt has stopped trying to deliver value and started squeezing customers for every cent they can get. The most loyal, least demanding guests don’t write reviews. They just quietly stop coming back. I’ll be one of them.

Not bad, not great.
The pool was a great depth for my kids with a large area at 3’+ meaning my 4 year old could stand! However, the temperature was a little too cold and there were never towels. Further, breakfast was seriously lacking. There was only one waffle maker for way over 100 people at a time. The line took 45+ minutes. Since there were so few other food choices, we had no choice to wait on line. Finally, there is a $12 parking charge for each night that is not mentioned in the booking confirmation emails. While this hotel was clean, it did not rise above that low bar.

Needs a renovation badly
This property is outdated and is in dire need of a renovation. Location wise it is very convenient, and although the sign says Hyatt, I question how they are allowed to operate in its current state. The rooms are outdated and the bath fixtures and furnishings are in tough shape. Carpet worn and stained. Not a property I would recommend.

Give Elisha and the other young lady from NY work works mornings a RAISE!
Elisha at the front was AMAZING. She was so busy and handled it very well. I saw w/ my own eyes her giving her lunch away because she didn’t ever have time to take a break to eat it. Her kindness was the highlight of my 1 night stay. Breakfast was nice and the parmesan fries really helped as a late night snack while watching the game in the lobby.
