  • Kid college dropoff in comfort.

I traveled to drop my child off at college. I came this summer and stayed a few other places. This was my favorite. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable. I love the parking garage which made us feel safe and my items secure.

  • Solid choice for MD Anderson

This Hyatt is large with several floors of onsite parking available for $15/night. The rooms are fresh with hard floors and modern bathrooms, decent appointments including a fridge at minimum. More extensive suites are available. The breakfast is typical mid-range hotel, with eggs, bland potato nuggets, a meat that rotates daily among several types of sausage and ham, fresh fruit, breads and bagels, and a pot of steel-cut oatmeal. The omelet bar appears to be permanently shuttered, probably because this particular breakfast service is very busy when compared to similar Hyatt properties. Car costs $15 a night. MD Anderson patients can ask the hotel directly for a discounted rate.

  • Mixed review

Nice room and nice pool. Garage ramp is hard to navigate due to narrowness and tight turns. Late night front desk staff is very rude. Restaurant hours say midnight but was closed at 11:15pm.

  • Great stay; close to Rice University

It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were staying there because it was close to Rice University where we were moving our daughter in for her freshman year. Parking was secure and easy to navigate. We will definitely be staying again when we go visit.

  • Refused a spot to park

We have a handicapped tag on our vehicle and all spots were filled. I parked in a 2nd floor spot marked RESERVED. I was rudely told by a HYATT employee that I need to move. I told him that all the spots were full and a TESLA was parked in the handicapped spot with no tag. He continued to argue with me after I showed him the tag several times.

  • Stolen Jewelry Box

My jewelry box was taken and not returned. This is not just a case of lost property, it raises serious concerns about security, accountability, and guest trust. The value of the items is significant, both financially and emotionally. The hotel’s lack of urgency and unwillingness to conduct a thorough investigation is unacceptable.

  • Leisure Trip

The room was top notch. The bed slept well. Bathroom was clean and amenities were stocked. Hotel staff were very nice and accomodating. Bkfst was mediocre. The apple juice and orange juice was watered down, food was not hot. Although this is a higher end hotel a microwave should still be placed in the room. Parking was a little crazy as you have to park in a parking garage and a nightly fee is charged of $15.00. The ambiance was nice but not exactly what I expected out of this hotel.

  • Functional friendly and easy

Hyatt Place/House Houston Medical Center is a comfortable hotel with welcoming staff and an excellent shuttle. The restaurant is fair but there’s a nice free breakfast buffet and a small convenience center. Free laundry and shuttle takes you to restaurants and other venues within 2 mile radius so that’s nice.

  • Convenient location

Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a nice assortment. Rooftop pool is pretty cool they just need to do a better job cleaning up the areas at the end of the day. Food remnants remained on the ground for days and tables and cushions had food all over them. Very convenient location for the medical campuses. Stinks that you have to pay for parking though.

  • Great hotel option

I appreciated this hotel for my family of 6. We were spending time in Houston on vacation visiting nearby locations such as the Houston Zoo and the Children's Museum as well as the Rice University campus. A huge benefit ended up being the hotel shuttle within 2 miles which gets you to the medical areas as well as a lot of restaurants. We ended up with car trouble and the shuttle picked us up from the mechanic and dropped us back there as well. We stayed in the Hyatt Place portion two queens with a pullout couch, but Hyatt House is in the same building shared amenities. Good free breakfast (eggs, meat, potatoes, sweet, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, toast, juice), nice outdoor pool with a great view of the city and evening shade, hot tub, gym for working out. The hotel lets you check out games and some other items as well which was a fun addition. The hotel is quiet for the most part although we were placed on the 9th floor pool view (pool is on the 7th floor above the parking garage) which meant we could hear people having fun at 10pm while trying to put the kids to bed and fall asleep. The couch bed wasn't bad, but doesn't get a duvet just a rough blanket. The main beds were all right - not great as they are used hotel beds, but way better than my last hotel experience and had a great duvet and lots of pillows. There's a mini fridge and no microwave in room, but there's one in the lobby. You can hear people if they're talking in the hallway outside your room, but we didn't hear our neighbors through the wall and we saw there were people on both sides. The doors shut forcibly, so that did shake the whole room it seemed when others were leaving around 6:15am. Bring a night light if you need to use the bathroom without the full lights on. There were smaller lights by the mirror but you can't turn them on without the main light being on, so it's rather useless. You do have to leave a card in to keep the lights on, so if you have a family make sure to get enough room cards for everyone. Staff was very nice and helpful. Air conditioning worked fine, fan is loud but you can't force it to stay on all the time. The parking garage is a bit tight, lots of pillars, but there was always space near the top. It was nice to have the garage and not have to worry about rain or the hot sun getting to and from the car.
