Great location with access to metra straight to down. HOWEVER - the pool has been broken for a year or more, and the hotel had other maintenance issues in the lobby and ameninites that need to be addressed. Room was nice, however, air conditioner/heating vent blows directly on your head while in the bed.

We were in Chicago to see family and visit local colleges. Unfortunately, we had no AC in our room for the entire stay. We spoke with multiple front desk people and eventually the maintenance person came to our room. He claimed that the issue was fixed, but it was not. Multiple nights of sleeping in a too warm room did not lead to happy family members. Everyone we spoke with was understanding, but ultimately the issue wasn't resolved. Moving to another room wasn't an option offered. The hot breakfast was good and the location met most of our needs. We would not choose to stay at this Hyatt location in the future.

Great clean comfortable hotel with friendly staff. There’s a Georgiano’s pizza a block away, your a block from the train station, 30 minutes to the convention center or less than 15 by car. Also only a 10 minute walk to the lake.

Great location! Can't be beat. There were so many restaurants, shops, and stores nearby. It was truly a great location because you did not need a car. The atmosphere was great. The seating was very comfortable. The room was clean. The noise level was not even an issue. My service was not as I expected because my towels were changed on one of the days. However, the staff treated me well. That is what counts.

Sorry to say, room not clean,stains on carpet, comforter had blood stains, could hear conversations and blinds being drawn from another room, iron did not work properly.

This is a fantastic hotel surrounded by great eats. Simple as that. It's a bit expensive but for the price you get much more than the usual. We would be willing to pay it again!

Good location and room size is good. Good for people attending events around Hyde park. Close to Metra line. Close to food options and supermarkets.

This hotel was awesome. We were not traveling with a vehicle, so it was conveniently located to restaurants and a nearby Target! We Ubered, but that worked for us. Will definitely stay again when visiting Chicago.

The Hyatt's location is good. I was attending a conference at the University of Chicago. The area around the hotel has improved over the years, and now you can find several nice cafes and restaurants. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the bus station or Metra to downtown. When I arrived, my room wasn't ready, and I had to wait 3 hours to get it. The most disappointing element of my stay was the scarce and sloppy cleaning service. Probably the worst I have experienced in a hotel stay. They never cleaned fully and properly the bathroom. The floor was neither cleaned nor vacuumed. The toilet, sink, and shower were cleaned only after I complained. I specifically requested daily cleaning of the room, which I don't think should even be a question in a 3/4-star hotel. It was not worth the money I spent. For the service I have received, I would have been better off in a B&B.

The hotel and staff were fine, but my AC stopped working the first night. I had my AC set to 65 and it went up to 75, causing me not to be able to sleep. They assured me it was not a hotel wide issue, that it was just the room. So they moved me to a different room. The second night the same thing happened, as the evening progressed the temperature crept up towards 75. I again was not able to sleep and it really ruined my work trip. The staff were accommodating and let me check out early so I could go to a different hotel. However, I am writing this in case there are other hot sleepers out there so they're aware of the AC situation.

The hotel was very very clean, the breakfast was delicious, the beds were very comfortable, the staff were helpful and positive, and the location was perfect.

Upon our arrival, the staff was very welcoming and pleasant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The room was satisfactory and clean. The Hyde Park location was the perfect environment and the area offered diverse amenities. The value was exceptional. Would definitely return to the Hyatt Place at the University Medical Center on future visits to Chicago.

The staff at the hotel were warm, professional, and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is located in a nice area with plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. I plan to stay there again when I return to Chicago.

Great family hotel, super location, staff is friendly. Hotel is clean, noise is kept at a minimal. Only con is parking is expensive but close.

Great service and the location is perfect for the new Obama Center. Everyone was friendly we came in contact with. The room was nice and was great for family. I highly recommend it!

Not a good experience to share . Unfriendly staff ,no dining options, dirty place for breakfast, no food , lack of service , and not a good location made this experience under my expectations .

Stayed here because I had to go to UChicago Hospital. Hotel is far away and there’s no shuttle so prepare to spend money on uber or CTA. Place wasn’t very clean. Worse still the WiFi barely functioned. A lot of money for very little in return. Find another place to stay.
