Always a great visit
Always an outstanding experience, especially with the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. The location is superb, within walking distance to everything in Evanston, within 10-15 minutes. The rooms are always clean and quiet.

Disappointing Stay — Wrongly Charged for Free Night Rewards
My family has always loved Hyatt, and it has long been our first choice for vacations. That's why it's so disappointing to say that this was the first time Hyatt truly let us down. Aside from the unfriendly attitude of some of the front desk ladies (the gentleman who checked us in was pleasant) which was minor compared to the real problem: I was charged over $600 for two nights that I had booked using my Free Night Awards. When I called to resolve the issue, the front desk lady told me that she and her supervisor were too busy with the breakfast rush to help. I asked to be transferred to Reservations and the agent who sounded half awake at 10am local time took my information and then tried to transfer me to Billing, but the call ended up back at the front desk, where the same staff member hung up on me as soon as she heard my voice. After 35 minutes on the phone, I had gotten nowhere. It took two more calls before I finally reached the supervisor, who processed the refund but offered no compensation for the frustration and time wasted. I also filed a complaint on Hyatt official website, but nothing happened after a week. No emails. No calls. As a loyal Hyatt member, I have always held Hyatt to a high standard. The way I was treated during my stay and the way the billing issue was handled fell far short of it.

While I am glad that the charge was ultimately corrected and the refund was processed, I understand that having to make multiple calls was extremely frustrating. I am also very sorry to hear about your interactions with our front desk team. Your comments regarding the phone experience, including the call being disconnected, are especially concerning, and I will be addressing this directly with our team. We greatly appreciate your loyalty to Hyatt and understand why this experience was particularly disappointing given the trust you have placed in our brand over the years. Standard hotel
Nice clean standard hotel but expensive for what you get. I will add that the checkout person was extra courteous and helpful.

Excellent hotel!
The staff was friendly, and the room was clean, large, and more than I expected. The location was also perfect. Highly recommend and hope to stay here again soon.

A first for a new family architect in the family
Chicago and Evanston are two incredible places to visit. I have visited many times and commend the experiences. I actually made two separate trips to the windy city within 8 days and loved every minute. This was a first for several family members that accompanied me during these trips.

Evanston comfort
Large rooms, great amenities for downtown Evanston. Gym is better than expected. Staff is always great and accommodating. Well located, nice lobby and fine breakfast, good low key vibe.

Hyatt House our FAV!
Hyatt House was a perfect hotel for our trip. Great rooms, beds, breakfast and parking options. Of course, the location is great. Everyone at the front desk were very considerate, but a special thank you to Summer.

Relaxing stay during Northwestern University visit
It was a clean, quiet and spacious room. It was very comfortable to sleep in. The location was ideal for walking to restaurants and shops of Evanston and proximity to Northwestern University.

Home away from home
We stayed at Hyatt House Evanston for an extended period between apartment leases in Chicago, and we were very happy with our experience. Our room and the overall property were very clean, quiet, comfortable, and updated, the breakfast was great, and the free laundry was key. Every employee we encountered during our stay was welcoming and pleasant, and the location can't be beat. Our stay greatly exceeded expectations -- it truly felt like a "home" during a time when we didn't have one.

5-star hotel
This is a nice hotel centrally located in Evanston. They have a good staff at the front desk, valet service, and omelet station for breakfast. The rooms are clean and well appointed. This is solid 5-star hotel.

Great stay!
The staff were beyond helpful. Literally everyone I encountered on staff was very helpful, friendly, and professional. I was there for business and I saw them treat everyone equally. The care and consideration they all took to make sure guest had everything they needed was fantastic.

Great place, great team, breakfast could be improved.
Great place, great team, but breakfast could be better (lack of originality and variety). The iron in the room was damaged and needed replacing.

Perfect for Business Travelers Seeking a Quieter Stay
I was in Chicago for a business meeting and wanted a different experience than staying in the Loop. Choosing Evanston turned out to be a great decision. The drive downtown took about 25 minutes via Lake Shore Drive, and getting back was just as easy. The Hyatt House Chicago/Evanston offered a calmer, more relaxed atmosphere, which was appreciated after a full day of meetings. The room was comfortable, quiet, and well‑suited for getting some work done in the evening. I also loved the location—there are several small coffee shops and local restaurants within walking distance, giving the area a true neighborhood feel rather than a tourist vibe. If you’re a business traveler looking to avoid the hustle and bustle while still having easy access to downtown Chicago, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, great location.
Breakfast was great by hotel standards (hand made omlet!). Rooms were very nice. The bar looked great but was never open over two days that I saw... Not sure what the hours are?

Good Potential, But Needs Attention to Detail
During our stay, we noticed the bathroom lock wasn’t functioning properly, which was a bit concerning. The TV remote also could have used a good cleaning. These are small things, but they do make a difference in the overall experience. Hopefully the hotel can address these minor maintenance and hygiene issues, as the property has potential. For the price point, a little more attention to detail would go a long way!

Christmas-week at the Hyatt House Evanston
Great location with many restaurants, bars and other conveniences within a short walk. Room was very modern and clean with everything working. Quiet and upscale-feeling, with quality linens and service.

Great place to stay
Traveled to Evanston for my graduation from Northwestern University. Comfy beds. Nice rooms. In walking distance to Target, restaurants and coffee shops. Staff were warm, friendly and immediately responsive. Breakfast was okay. No non-pork options. Would stay here again.
