  • Great place to stay.

    Hyatt House Chicago/Evanston worked with us from the very beginning, over a year out to host our event. Location was great, rooms were outstanding, food very nice for the morning, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Great place to stay.

  • Great hotel and area of Chicago.

    We enjoyed the room and facilities at the hotel. The breakfast was very nice and we especially enjoyed the omelets and variety at breakfast. The location was very convenient for the multitude of places we were visiting.

  • GREAT....GREAT.. except mattress.

    This hotel and its staff are wonderful.. Location, functional decor, Staff... all wonderful. Just needed a new mattress in the room.

  • Excellent stay overall

    Overall, it was a great experience. The breakfast was very good and they even had someone that cooked made-to-order omelets, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was comfortable and clean. Water pressure in the shower was a little low, but still acceptable. When I checked in, I was told the housekeeping would be every 2 days. However, they ended up coming in every day. In general, this is fine, but it would have been nice to know that when I checked in.

    Great location and breakfast. We will stay there again while visiting family in Evanston. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

  • Nice Stay!

    This is my 2nd time staying at The Hyatt. The rooms were clean and spacey. The location is perfect for shopping and dining an it's near the Lake!.

  • Nice location

    Hotel is at nice distance from downtown. But parking fee of 25$ per night is a lot parking is at the back of hotel. Rooms are nice but there is a noice of water following through pipes from top floors.

  • Extremely disappointing, horrible customer service!!

    Extremely disappointed with this Hyatt House. After comparing several similar hotels in the area - basically looking for the nicest hotel that had availability in Evanston - I decided on the Hyatt House despite it being oddly significantly more expensive than comparable hotels in the area. Upon arrival, I received a lukewarm greeting from the front desk receptionist. As I walked toward the elevators, I noticed that both were broken. While I understand that things break (not the issue), I mentioned to the front desk receptionist the possibility of someone helping me to my room since I was on the 7th floor (solo female traveler) and had 2 pieces of luggage. He looked at me with a blank stare and after an awkward pause and me not wanting to deal with it, I decided just to haul it up 7 flights myself. On my way up, I passed two male employees who not only did not offer to help me, but didn't even acknowledge me with a hello (in response to mine) which was extremely off-putting to say the least. To add insult to injury, there were no plastic water cups next to the (almost empty) water offerings at the front desk on more than one occasion that evening. One would think that with guests having to lug their bags up and down up to 8 flights of stairs (depending on the floor they're on), the hotel would at the very least provide ample water cups. Frankly, even a nice gesture for good will (to many cranky guests, I noticed) would have been much appreciated - nothing expensive nor sizable, just even small snacks or something of the sort. Nothing. The room itself was fine, no complaints there. And no complaints with the online check-in and check-out - in fact, I appreciated both as I wanted to minimize my interaction with the front desk receptionist. Overall, sorely disappointed. I rarely, if ever, write reviews - so this experience being bad enough to prompt me do so says a lot. If desperate, I'd stay here again - otherwise, I'm going elsewhere.

  • Great Hotel in a Wonderful Location

    The gentleman at check in (9pm on 6/23) was very helpful and the lady at the omelette station the next morning made the BEST omelettes!! The breakfast was one of the best we have had!! Thank you for the clean rooms, great staff, delicious breakfast and well kept facilities!

  • No choice.

    For the price of a 5-star hotel, this hotel is far below what is should be. They gouge you because it's graduation weekend. If they are going to charge the insanely high price that they do, they can at least upgrade the products and linens.
