From the moment we entered until we departed a few days later, the stay was great. Our room overlooking the water was wonderful --roomy, well designed, modern. We very much enjoyed the Pocitas neighborhood and restaurants. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the staff is exceptional which has been our experience with many Hyatts, especially those overseas. The place to stay in Montevideo!

Great Facility

Our stay was during the christmas holiday.  The hotel basically shuts down facilities to host the dinner on the 24th.  We were not told about that.  The breakfast on the 25th was a disaster, no plates, no food left and we were there at 9:00 am.  Slow service around the bar area on other days.  The room is great.  We had a suite with two rooms and two bathrooms which was amazing.

Good location

The room vibrates and is loud all night long until 6am because of the public gatherings accords the street.  Security and management team needs proper training with no customer service experience and does nothing to help guest feel welcome. Restaurant and Maid service is excellent.  Some staff members make you feel uncomfortable at times and can use extensive experience in hospitality.

Not a Premier Hotel

Great hotel, good location and staff is wonderful.  They set the bar pretty high on customer service. From check in, to the restaurant staff, to the housekeeping staff, had a great experience.  All were very friendly, professional and spoke English.  This was very helpful in directing us to the must see places and helping to make reservations for tours and restaurants.  

Stay at the Hyatt

Great service, staff, cleanliness, location !! We will be back for sure to this Hyatt. We stay a week and sad to leave, the staff make you feel welcome. Great options on breakfast. Overall is a great Hotel

Great Service

A very good hotel with very helpful people in its staff which makes your stay a pleasant experience. The hotel is located at a "Rambla" with a nice view of Rio de la Plata. It is located near Montevideo Shopping and close to good (and not expensive) places to eat

Good Hotel, Great Location

We were a group of 30 and the staff did an amazing job accommodating all the request and taking care of us during the 2 days event. I highly recommend them if you are planning a visit or a business meeting in Montevideo.

Great location and amazing service!

Had a wonderful time at this hotel.  Very clean and the staff was superb.  The bartenders at the bar were excellent and very helpful.  Great location in front of the beach and public park.  Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Great service, great Bar

Great location across the street from the beach. Very comfortable, clean and affordable. Staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was a nice bonus. Not sure what else to add. I'd definitely stay here again.

Perfect friendly staff, good hotel with nice location and clean rooms, menu and food are enough good, it is pleasant to sit in the bar or in the hall of the hotel in front of ocean/river with beer or cocktail from the bar

Perfect

This hotel has become my home away from home.  Unfortunately, this time it was due to the passing of my mother.  Front desk and breakfast attention were excellent, and would have given the property a 5 rate, if not for the bar.  The bar staff are (like everybody at hotel) attentive and cordial.  However, bartender needs training regarding basic cocktails.  There is not a big variety of vodkas or gin.  Had no clue about "mocktails" for my niece that does not drink.  Requested a cosmopolitan and was given some sort of blueberry pure. (?).   This is not my first disappointing experience at the bar, so I am avoiding it all together.   the rest of my stay, decided to drink Garzon wines that are superb.   

My home away from home but bar service must improve.

The hotel is clean and quiet. It has a good selection of food for breakfast. Is well located. It is near the Montevideo shopping center which is +. The area is nice so you feel a grade of security walking around.

Nice view of "La Rambla"

This hotel is beautiful, clean and has great modern amenities. There is a full service restaurant with good food and a full bar with great ambiance. The rooms are clean and have electrical outlets to accommodate US electronic devices.

Fantastic Hotel!

I'm a frequent guest at this hotel, and yet their staff consistently manages to exceed my already high expectations. They go above and beyond to attend to remember all my preferences and attend to every detail to ensure I have an unforgettable stay every week.

This hotel not only has quality rooms but the staff are exceptionally lovely and welcoming .Really enjoyed chatting to them and how helpful & profesional they were .Its in a perfect location and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Uruguay .

Well placed

Location: great. Breakfast: unless you like cold eggs and sausages, terrible, great service though. Rooms: run down, bathroom smells like sewer sink was clogged the whole stay. Apparently the room was never vacuumed. The staff is nice and kind but absolutely clueless, manager Rodrigo seems nice but not very helpful. It was my last stay, a shamr.

Terrible

The hotel is convenient in location to walk to beach, nearby parks, stores and restaurants.  The hotel desk is very helpful to contact Car Service for you if you choose not to walk.  There are many historical places to see.  If you decide to rent a car you can drive to “Punta del Este, Casa Pueblo and Piriapolis”, that is within two hours from the hotel with amazing breathtaking views to capture. 

Great Hotel, service and location.

If the location of Hyatt Centric y great, the attention is better than that! The hotel is located at Rambla Republica del Peru 1479, in Pocitos area Montevideo city. It has a a great ocean view and on top of that the service attention is outstanding. 

Location and attention

Great location, in front of Kibon. A few blocks from Montevideo Shopping Center. Nice indoor pool, nice buffet breakfast. Rooms are clean, and large.There a re a few restaurant options around and also ice cream store like Las Delicias.

Best New Hotel in Montevideo

the hotel was full, the service was slow and unsatisfactory, the restaurant service was very discouraging, I asked for a milanese, they gave it to me raw and they said that there were people who asked for it juicy. I asked for ice or something to the room and I had to call 3 or 4 times, they did not leave toilet paper, the room was not ready, and they gave me another one, when I entered the suite that corresponded to me there was garbage and items from the previous resident in the room. Really nothing to do with the service that I am used to for what I pay

Hotel Full

I had high expectations of the Hyatt Centric Montevideo and it delivered on them all. The room was comfortable, spacious, and immaculately clean, as were all the common areas. Even better, the location in Pocitos along the rambla was chef's kiss perfect - such a fun neighborhood just to walk around, hang out, or catch a few rays on the beach. 

Fantastic hotel in great area

Over the top nice staff.  We speak English and the staff spoke English very well!  A fantastic hotel with great service! Easy to get around and close to lots of things we were wanting to see in Montevideo. 

Fantastic Stay

Amazing staff and service. The rooms are mid-range, modern amenities but not luxurious. The location couldn't be better by the beach, and the pool and gym are great. Breakfast was somewhat limited due to COVID but the selection was fresh and great quality. Overall a delightful stay made extra special by the friendliness of the staff who all went above and beyond to help us.

Great hotel

Stayed at Hyatt Centric with my family for the third time. 
Everything went perfectly well. Employees were respectful, supportive, and always there to help.
The location is great, close to restaurants and the beach. The rooms are clean and the restaurant service is great.

Awesome as usual

You can’t open your window more than 20cm. I couldn’t sleep any night because of the mess outside, my neighbours was able to see me in my bathroom from his balcony, there is no outdoor bar, the breakfast is very bad…

Didn’t like it at All

Location of the hotel is very good. It’s located at the Rambla. Also Pocitos is nearby, there you have nice restaurants and coffee bars. The hotel has super nice and beatiful rooms. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

Extended weekend at Montevideo

I recommend the hotel. I stayed for 35 days due to a Business trip. I have nothing to complain about. It was an excellent experience! The staff was very helpful. I really recommend the hotel for the next guests.

Viaje de negocios

In front of the Rio de la Plata broad walk, with an exclusive view, you have a best in class hotel. Great cuisine, nice and modern rooms, a modern bar, big and warm decorated gym, pool designed for swimmers and a great very attentive staff. 
Finally you can´t miss the Uruguayan meet and wines!

Montevideo best location

Habitaciones perfectas. La cama súper cómoda. El baño impecable. Rooms are perfect. The bed is super cozy and smells very good. Bathroom is perfectly clean. The pool is a rather unique experience and service is amazing. 

Excelente

Staff were superb and nothing was too much trouble. I was there for nearly three months due to work. Restaurant could do with changing its menu more often. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Although beautiful, having a river view proved to be a noisy experience due to locals holding loud music parties from their cars on the waterfront until 4am. However switching rooms to a city view negated this problem. 
The hotel could benefit with more rooms with a bath instead of just a shower. 

The place to be

The front desk staff was beyond helpful arranging activities due to our limited Spanish; special thanks to Emiliano.  Breakfast was all one could ask for and facilities were very good, including exercise room and lap pool.

Great hotel , beautiful and centrally located , large room with a great view  across the street from the Montevideo iconic sign and with in walking distance to a major shopping center and local restaurants 

Beautiful Montevideo

It had been a while since my last stay at Hyatt Centric Montevideo, and they seem to only get better with time. From the moment I walked in till check out, they made me feel like the most welcome and missed guest. Even months after my last visit, they still remembered all my preferences, offered all the perks you can imagine, and made me feel right at home!
I can only hope all my hotel stays would be like that!

Consistently excellent

HYATT CENTRIC is very well located. Close to the beach, Pocitos, shopping and restaurants. Easy enough to get into the old part of town but also get away to the East where the more beachy areas are. 
The premises are modern, clean and well kept.

GREAT SPOT

Had the best night’s sleep in this beautiful, modern hotel in the best area of Montevideo. The staff was very friendly and courteous and the breakfast amazing! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody traveling on business or on vacation. 

Amazing hotel in the best part of Montevideo

The hotel is in a great location on the Rambles. Easy walk to some very good restaurants and a quick bus ride to the old city.
Our room was a corner suite overlooking the water. Bed was comfortable, great shower and it was very quiet. 
Only disappointment was the pool area. Located in the basement it was small and dark. When we went to check it out it was also filled with kids - not appealing to us.



Great place to stay in Montevideo.

This hotel met all our needs as we ended our trip to Uruguay.  The number one reason is the staff. Each staff member demonstrated the friendly professionalism that makes a stay extra special. We were provided assistance with reservations, taxis, luggage storage and information regarding various areas/neighborhoods to visit.  We spent more time in the lobby bar than we typically do at a hotel because the food and drinks were priced reasonably and, again, each staff member was personable.  Our room was large and had everything we needed except for an iron - but one was immediately delivered when I asked for it (and who irons anymore anyway? ...a weird request!).   The location of the hotel is convenient for walking to restaurants in that area and spending time strolling along the walkways at the edge of the waer.  It was easy to take a taxi back and forth to visit the old part (Ciudad Vieja) for about 9 US dollars each way. We loved everywhere we went in Uruguay and hope to return again - and end the trip at the Hyatt Centric again. 

Perfect hotel at the end of our three weeks in Uruguay

An excellent hotel with very creative and comfortable interior design in the public area and room. I had a superb room over looking the river/sea. All the staff were warm and friendly. Superb location in Montevideo. You must see the sunsets!

Superb

The hotel has a very modern and stylish decor. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. As a globalist a received an upgrade which was very much appreciated. The staff in the reception spoke excellent English and were very kind and helpful! The Bar was also very nice. Pool was also lovely to relax in after a day of sightseeing. I had originally planned to stay only for 2 days, but we liked the hotel so much that we ended up staying 4 nights! Highly recommended!

Modern, high quality hotel

My family and I traveled to Montevideo for Christmas holiday. The location of the hotel is very convenient. The breakfast was great and the people at the front desk and the bar were so polite and helpful.

Great place to stay. Personnel makes you feel at home. I specially like the kindness of the personnel, the modern style and the location. Hyatt Centric Montevideo is a great option to stay for business or leisure.


Kind, clean and modern

I really, really enjoyed the hotel, the room, the breakfast, the restaurant and the service.
I recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the city of Montevideo as you will not regret it. The Hotel is to repeat.

The rooms are comfortable and clean 
Is unbelievable that in the middle of the city there is no noise in your rooms ! We will come back soon 

Excellent customer service

Hotel located on the beach. The rooms are larger and better equipped, far beyond the average hotel room.The bar is a nice place to hangout and watch sports and the drinks are reasonably priced. The business meeting rooms are also large and comfortable.

Excellent rooms at a very reasonable price

I was in Montevideo for five night attending a summit and the Hyatt Centric was a great spot to stay.  The only criticism is that the rooms aren't super sound-proofed (I was staying on the ocean view side) and there was a big dance party on the beach on my final night that went till 6am.  I was having some trouble sleeping with jetlag and illness so it might have seemed worse than it was, the rest of the nights were perfectly fine.

Perfect spot for a work conference...

I am a travel agent.   I found this hotel an excellent value.  The staff's young and friendly.  The rooms are big, and super comfortable.  Great views of the coast!  Loation, superb.  Within walking distance of one of the biggest shopping malls of the city, pubs all around and great for a biz meetings. 
When you make the res. make sure you ask your travel agent for the HYATT PRIVE rate or SIGNATURE.  IF your travel agent does no have access to these rates, look for another agent! LOL. 
The breakfast, it's superb.  *hint (come down 9Am, the latest... it gets full quickly).

Beautiful hotel. Very spacious and well-designed.  Our room had Wonderful beach views.  Attentive and friendly staff that was very helpful.  The hotel offers an excellent breakfast with diverse food options. 

Hyatt in Montevideo

A beautiful location right on the beach.  Service was great.  Wonderful buffet breakfast and a very friendly bar staff.  Quiet, but not stuffy.  A lovely room off the lobby was a nice place to meet friends and have a quiet chat.  The room was beautiful and spacious and the bathroom was really big and modern.

Grand Hotel

My 4-day stay was for business purposes. The room was well appointed, comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff were very attentive and responsive to my needs. The hotel is conveniently located off the Rambla, approximately 25 minutes from the airport (up to 40 minutes at peak times). It is still a good 6 kms to the old part of town, but there are plenty of taxis and Ubers about.

Excellent stay

Very nice facility with modern decor. Spacious room with excellent views of the water. I must say that the staff is excellent and their service was most attentive and responsive, particularly the front desk team and the concierges. The staff are the best!

Stellar Hotel In A Great Location

Besides being a beautiful and super comfortable hotel, I do need to highlight how amazing the staff was! I had a very late flight, so I checked out around 11:30 pm (a lot earlier than the actual next day check- out time). As it turned out, my flight was canceled due to weather conditions and the airline didn’t offer any kind of support. I called the hotel to see if they had any rooms available and they quickly sorted things out and actually rechecked us in to our 
previous room without any kind of additional cost - and it all happened at 3 am!  Such nice and helpful people! For sure this became my  go to hotel in Montevideo!

One of the best hotel experiences I had

This hotel was beautiful and very easy to navigate. Most staff spoke enough English that you didn’t need to be fluent in Spanish. Food and drinks were very over priced but convenient and easy so I guess that’s a trade off.  

Lovely Hotel

It is a Hyatt, period.  However, prices were really bellow what I would expect.  Service is excelent, hotel lobby is a piece of art in itself, wonderful bar.  The room was absolutely clean, spacious, well decorated, modern, confortable and silent.  Perfect

Excelent value for money on a perfect location

Breakfast for 29 US$ is too expressive for what you get at the buffet. Pillows are really bad. Nice Lobby and employees. Location is outside of what is happening in the city. Letters if Montevideo is in front of the Hotel. 

Nice Hotel

Greeted when walked into door. Great staff, very clean room, friendly. Would love to come back. Staff gave suggestions on food, local wines, drinks. They really care about their guest. Large clean rooms, bedding very comfortable. 

This hotel is incredible. It is in a perfect location. The staff are super nice and helpful. I had a small dog with me and the staff were so sweet with him. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Amazing experience

My wife and I just came back from Montevideo (MVD), Uruguay and had the pleasure of getting to know this vibrant city in the southern cone of Latin America.  If you are looking for the perfect location and hotel to stay - stop searching!  Your choice should be the Hyatt Centric Montevideo!

My home in Montevideo

The room and underground pool are awesome. Great food and staff. They even have big elevators. Love the decorations of the hotel. The main restaurant for breakfast have all the food possible. The bathroom in the room are unique with Bidet . :)

Awesome hotel, in the Rambla, big clean room with cool layout. Amazing staff and always helpful.  A super cool pool.

The lobby/bar/reception area is very nice, staff is friendly and supportive, but the rooms are very 1950's, in questionable taste and drab colors. Breakfast is much too expensive for the quality offered.

HyattCentric in winter

Had a wonderful time in the hotel. It is located right on the beach opposite Montevideo landmark. Hotel facilities and Services were excellent. Santiago, the restaurant boy was very cooperative and looked after well. Thanks to the hotel management team 


Excellent Food and Services

I was in Montevideo for one night on business and needed to rest and recover after the long flight. The hotel was excellent in all respects, including the view out over the Rio Plata.  And, the dinner in the hotel restaurant was great, much better than what you would expect on average for a hotel restaurant.  Really great meal.

Better if you make a reservation of a front river room, view is just great.
Laundry is a good service, you can iron your clothes if you want, iron is available.
Take with you some swimming suits, pool is temperature adjusted and just great after a long day working or after working out.

Great stay

I really liked this hotel. The design is young, relaxed and vibrant. Feels very different from other hotels in Montevideo. While other hotels are beautiful and staff are good the experience feels incomplete. Not with this hotel. It was an overall good experience from check in to check out. The room was big and comfortable, the bed so good.  Will return. 

Great reception restaurant and bar. Vibrant nightlife. Excellent rooms and room service. Very clean and comfortable. We visited while attending a family event. I highly recommend this hotel as one of the tops in Montevideo

The location is Fantastic! Across the street from the Ramblas. Walking distance to many restaurants,  bars and shopping. The staff is Always smiling and very accomodating. The restaurant had Amazing cooks. The bar, fitness center and pool were enjoyable. You will not be disappointed staying at this hotel!!!!!

An all encompassing WONDERFUL Hotel!!

The Hotel was modern, clean, and we'll kept. There was good security; you needed a key card to get on the elevator to your floor, and there was a quiet presence of security at the hotel as well. The entire staff was helpful and very friendly. I liked the area that the hotel was located in as ell; it was right across the street from the beach, which is as close as you can get to the beach front with regard to a building. I would DEFINITELY stay there again.

Great Stay In Montevideo

The staff could not be more polite. We had very specific needs for parking because we were in a limited edition collectors automobile and staff did everything to accommodate us. I would definitely stay again.

Great service. Great hotel

I provided my mambership # at check in but instead to put it in my reservation, they created a new account without consulting or without my authorization. My staying was posted to this new account instead the one I have. 

Unacceptable! 

Very bad front desk staff

Our stay as vacationers in Montevideo was great. The wonderful accommodation provided by Hotel Centric contributed greatly to that positive feeling. The staff was always helpful and had a great attitude. We will be back!  

Nice place if you travel for business to Montevideo. Very close to the WTC towers, the hotel has mostly all you need to feel comfortable. The only negative point is the restaurant for breakfast is not to big, so at some times is very crowded  

Nice stay on a fantastic location

Hyatt Centric is a sleek modern property with comfortably large rooms, many with great views of the river. The basement gym and grotto pool were a real treat. Breakfast in the lobby area was good and full of a variety of choices. 

Great view; great pool!

This is a great hotel with all the amenities you'd expect from a Hyatt. Some rooms have views of the beach (although the water is always brown so it's not the prettiest). Walking distance to a couple of big malls and the area feels totally safe.

Great hotel and location

I cannot say enough good things about our stay at the Hyatt Centric. It was, by far, one of the best stays I've ever had. Sergio and the rest of the team made everything for our group absolutely seamless. We were sad to leave and would happily visit again.

Beautiful Hotel, Wonderful Staff

Within walking distance to the beach and some great small restaurants nearby. It's a bit of a residential area so if your looking for shopping etc., you have to walk a bit. It took me 30 mins to walk to the Sunday farmers market but I enjoy walking so not a problem for me and I felt safe. The check in service was quick and efficient and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast had tons of options and it was delicious food. Indoor pool was pretty small.

Excellent amenities and location

Great staff, clean rooms, excellent service.  I spent significant time at this hotel for a recent business trip and had a comfortable, restful stay.  I would recommend the Hyatt to anyone planning to stay in Montevideo.

Hyatt Montevideo

Well located, walking distance from the sea and good dining options. The pool was relaxing and staff was very accommodating to our little 20 month old boy. The pool is super relaxing and the cocktails at the bar were top notch. Great breakfast for all ages.

Excellent option and location, the people are friendly and the breakfast is delicious. The rooms are spacious and well decorated and clean. Definitely I do recommend it for a pleasant staying in Montevideo. 

Excellent option

Very good value for money.  Well located in Pocitos.  The rooms were very large and nicely decorated and furnished.  Nice, newly renovated bathrooms.  Overall very nice.  Service was good.  My only complaint is terrible coffee - both in the Hyatt restaurant and the cafe attached!!  With so many great little cafes in Montevideo, there should be no excuse for terrible coffee!!

Very good stay

The service was good overall with special attention to the team at the restaurant and chef Camila. There should be an area/room/playground for children. There should also be beach service since most customers will want to spend some time in the sun and the hotel is a beachside hotel.

Nice hotel.

The rooms are ver spacious. We had a big double bed. The room had a lot a space with a table and a small sofa and a chair. The room had view to the ocean. The bathroom is really nice with big shower. The room was clean although there was a little dust and some fingerprints on the doors. The service at the restaurant was great and the food was delicious.

Great Location and good parking! Beach is right across the street. Great for those who like outdoor exercise. Lobby was well decorated, Everyone welcomed me,,,bellman, front desk and mananger.

Hyatt Monteviedo

The hotel has delighting design and decoration. Very comfortable and clean. It is very well mantained with a wonderful view to the river!
The staff is excelent, kind and very flexible to accomodate to the guest needs. Very good location. Fantastic choice, we will for sure book it again.

Excelent choice in Montevideo!

I will definitely recommend this hotel base on my remarkable experience. My room number was 1004 on the 10th floor, the view is so lovely where you can see the ocean, the beautiful beaches, the well structured buildings of the city, the moon, sun, bus park, a recreational park and the largest sign of the city "MONTEVIDEO" just you off your bed. I love my stayed at the Hyatt Centric Montevideo, Uruguay.

Excellent experience

Great early checkin allowed me time to change on go to the beach which is exactly across the street.  Hotel has great gym and USB phone chargers near bed, which is very important for international travelers

Very nice hotel with good ambience. Had to spend additional 20 USD for River view room. But it's worth paying the money. View from the room is stunning and I enjoy the memories spent here. I highly recommend this to all our friends and families

Value for Money

Due to consistent understaffing at front desk and bar, the vacation experience was sometimes lost. Waiting over 10 minutes to speak to the Concierge was unacceptable, because he/she was usually doing double-duty at front desk too. 

Nice looks, nice staff, poor service.

The staff was happy and helpful! The hotel was beautiful and perfect for our stay in Montevideo, right across from Playa Pocitos. While outside of Ciudad Vieja, it was a quick Uber away and worth the stay.

Marvelous Montevideo

The Hyatt Centric Montevideo is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are spacious and very clean.  The breakfast buffet is delicious.  The hotel staff are kind and courteous, very helpful with whatever you need.  Can't say enough about the bar staff, they were fabulous when breaking the news to us that they were out of our favorite booze.  The popcorn in the bar is the best!

Hyatt Centric Montevideo

Had a lovely suite, hotel is very new with very appealing, modern decor. Staff was excellent in my short stay. Right across from the famous Montevideo sign and from our conference center. Good lunches within 10 minutes walking distance. Great breakfast.

Beautiful, new hotel on the beachfrontt.

The Hyatt is a beautifully maintained and decorated hotel located in the just across from the iconic Montevideo sculpture right on the Rambla on Pocitos beach. In the other direction it is a short walk to restaurants, pubs, and the Montevideo Shopping. This is a great place to stay to avoid the bustle and traffic of downtown but close enough to everything in the city to not feel far away. If there is any negative it's that the rear-facing rooms have little to no view.

Beautiful location in a beautiful hotel

Although at the top of the price range this hotel offers good value for money. The staff is friendly and attentive, the food excellent with lots of variety and local cuisine, the rooms spacious, comfortable and quiet, the internet connection excellent and the location very attractive.

Hyatt Centric

I was there for a seminar, and i was delighted with the infrastructure. The interior design of the hotel is amazing, and the rooms are very big and confortable. Breakfast is very complete.I used the heated pool in the basement also, which was really nice.Would definitely recomend it!

Very Modern hotel, great service

Well located in the cost of Montevideo. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere in the reception, lounges and restaurants. The rooms are excellent! Very comfortable and spacious, lots of places to stores clothes, big bathroom, new bad and pillows. It's definitely an excellent choice to stay in Montevideo.
