Trying to reserve a room was a nightmare. Tried to make a reservation online. It would not accept my group number. Called. Was placed on hold for 3 hours, then got cut off. Was placed on hold again for 2.5 hours. Finally got to talk to someone. They said I would receive a confirmation email within a week. Waited 2 weeks. Never received a confirmation. Called back and was placed on hold again for over an hour. I hung up and decided to call Hyatt Centric directly. They said they had no reservations for me. I tried to make reservations again. Was unable to get the original room as it was no longer available. And was told that I could, now, not get the group rate for all the nights we wanted to stay as they were now sold out. Was told that because of my bad experience they would upgrade my room at no extra cost. When I checked in, the upgrade was not given to me. When I realized that we were not given the upgrade, I went down to the check in desk with the email that said I would receive the upgrade. I was told that was not possible by a very rude check in person, even though my email said I was to receive the upgrade. So, they said they would not charge me a parking fee instead. Well, that didn't happen either. It was charged to my bill when I went to check out. In fact, the desk clerk told me she never said that despite having proof that multiple people heard her say that. When I confronted her, she did refund my parking fee for only one night instead of the seven nights as promised. And because of not being able to get the group rate for all the nights stayed, I had to check out and re-check in again for the nights I was charged a different rate. I have saved emails and names of who I spoke with to support this. The hotel itself, was very nice. And the bellboys were great, as was the concierge. Food was good.
Great location for the FQ. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our interior courtyard room was pretty quiet. The elevators seemed a little dated and were kind of a little joke amongst hotel guests about how long they took to open the doors, but not a problem. The common area/lobby area was fantastic to hang out at with a good bar. Loved Deanie's across the street. Staff was friendly. Check your destination fee discounts/benefits--$20 food/bev credit and RTA passes.

Dear 803kimberlyt, It is wonderful to hear that you had an enjoyable stay at our Hyatt Centric. Our convenient French Quarter location, awesome amenities, and clean, comfortable accommodations are typically the most celebrated aspects of the hotel in our guests' reviews, so it is great that you agree. I do apologize for any extended wait times for the elevators. On behalf of the entire team, thank you for your business, and please come back soon! Best, Craig Mouney General Manager
Coming to New Orleans for a conference, I didn't expect to see much of the city outside of the hotel, but the staff was wonderful and helped me book two tours outside of my busy conference schedule! They also gave me fantastic suggestions of places to eat that were safe for a solo traveler to walk to/from at night, while still giving me the full flavors you'd expect to find in New Orleans. (Shout out to Ken at the bar - BEST suggestions and killer drinks!) The room itself was luxurious without being ostentatious. I had a very comfortable king bed, along with a beautiful couch/table in the sitting area that made keeping up with work a breeze. The hotel's location is perfect. Being right in the heart of the French Quarter means everything is either walkable, or just a trolly ride away!

The location was great in the French Quarter and close to Bourbon Street however that also provided a level of noise that was annoying at night. We had a convention and the convention dinners were extremely expensive .

Dear Roving39432089451, Thank you for your rating and for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed our great location, though we sincerely apologize for the nighttime noise. While we recognize that some noise pollution is to be expected in such a lively area, we understand that it can still be disruptive to a restful stay. Hyatt Centric surpassed our expectations. The rooms were clean and neat. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the French Quarter. It felt upscale without feeling stuffy. It is close enough to everything in the French Quarter, but not loud at all. We loved our stay!

It is within walking distance to many of the cities finest bars and restaurants and a very short walk to New Orleans public transit. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, it is extremely well maintained and everyone went the extra mile to ensure our stay in New Orleans was enjoyable. I stayed here for a couple of nights using some saved up rewards points. We arrived very early in the morning due to a storm asked if an early check in was possible, they told me they could do 30 minutes early. Fair enough. I was told through Hyatt corporate I could still receive my destination fee rewards even though they are waived with a points stay. I was told no angrily for simply asking. The price doesn’t appear to be that bad but they nickel and dime you for everything after you book. $50 valet a day. $15 destination fee per guest per day. The valet is expensive so you’d think it would be nice? No they take eternity to get your car and will not use the ability to request your car before you go down stairs. When you tell them you’d like your car, they’ll ask you where you’re going and want you to walk to somewhere closer that similar. If I want my car I should be able to have it if I’m paying you $50 a day to park. I am not a very picky person. The room was okay, carpet was kind of old. Tub had some discoloration on it. No one heard a peep from me about it. I just want people to know this place is overpriced for what it is. I maybe wouldn’t feel that way if the benefits you pay for, or are promised but not given, were actually helpful.

The staff were quite helpful, especially ERIC, who hailed us taxis, arranged for our loose wheel on my Walker/Rollater to be repaired. (Thank God for the help!) AND various other assistance. Bar staff in lobby were also quite professional & helpful. Lobby was Clean & Service good. Our room did have a little musty odor, but other than that, was good.

Hyatt Centric French Quarter is a great hotel located right off Bourbon Street. The location was perfect…all the excitement, music, restaurants and convenience of being in the action, yet you can easily return to the hotel for rest and AC. The hotel bar and bartenders were lovely. The small food counter in the lobby was convenient and the women working there provided quick service in a friendly, unrushed way. The hotel was clean, housekeeping was great, and the pool and patio areas were nice. Pool bar was not open as it had already closed for the season which was a bummer given the number of people using the pool during our visit (most ppl brought cocktails up from the lobby bar it seemed). Our room AC was not working well the night we checked in however since it was late we waited until morning to notify staff. Within minutes of that notification, maintenance was in our room and working to correct the issue. It was fixed probably with 20 mins and Marcus from maintenance gave us bar coupons for the inconvenience. The valets were so friendly and polite. There is a $50 parking fee per night which we were unaware of but it does seem comparable to other local hotels. Overall, everyone we encountered at the hotel was helpful and friendly. We all agreed that we would stay here again.

I stayed at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter for an annual conference and it did not disappoint! The staff was very attentive and always smiling, willing to help with anything. The food prepared by the hotel was delicious. The very kind woman who checked me in kept me informed on the status of my room and sent me a text as soon as it was ready. The proximity to the French Quarter, specifically Bourbon Street, is perfect. So many great restaurants and attractions are within walking distance. Red Fish Grill attached is also an amazing restaurant. I look forward to our conference at the Hyatt Centric every year!
