This is a beautiful hotel. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The view wqs incredible. The bathroom was enormous. There was huge variety at breakfast. A brilliant hotel with friendly staff.

  • Service is almost non existent, but comfortable room in a nice location

I generally stay at the Grand Hyatt in Pudong where the views and the location are just as nice, but I have been told that the Hyatt on the Bund had renovated rooms and a nice bar. After a 3 day stay at the hotel, I'm prone to say this had been one of worse Hyatt properties (Regency and above) in terms of services I have stayed at. The staff were not very helpful, so if you are just looking for a clean bed to stay in the city at a decent location this might be the place. The internet is terrible, I understand that it is China but I have stayed at other properties in the city (FS, Ritz, Waldorf, etc.,) that have not had this issue; nevertheless the renovated rooms are comfortable. Oh....the bar, plenty of other bars in the city with the same nice view...really not worth the hype as the service is extremely poor; comparable or worst than a local bar off the street.

  • Great view but disgusting receptionist

Receptionist Vicky Zuo is a total disaster. If you speak to her, she will respond after 3 sec with despise and only help like 60% of your request. Usual room rate is typically $200+ per night but this person make you feel you are living in a $2 barn.

  • Great stay

Excellent rating for the staff, cleanliness, and the view. Not enough seating at the lobby for guests waiting for a room. The place felt like a bus stop. Line cutting was experienced during both check in and check out.

  • Nice hotel but needs more friendly approach to out of towners

I find this hotel location to be a bit isolated. The hotel itself is pretty nice and the bell men are very helpful. The problem is i could not find any menus of any hotel restaurants in the room. i could not even find menus online. It took me a while to figure out how to order food. This seems very unfriendly to visitors.

  • We can expect more from a five-star hotel. In Poland, three-star hotels are cleaner.

big minus: bathroom not very clean, minibar empty throughout the stay. On the plus side: great breakfastAfter a 24 hour journey, a clean bathroom and minibar are required from a hotel of this class. Unfortunately, the bathroom looked as if it had only been cleaned on the surface. The minibar was always empty, the most important thing for me was a cold drink after such an Armageddon of travel, but here the fridge only had light to offer?!

  • Bad Hotel, worst!

DO NOT STAY at THIS HOTEL! I am a long time Hyatt Globalist and a long time Hyatt member. The room is very dirty and toilet is disgusting! There were poops in the trash can in the toilet room. Also, the coffee table is so dirty. The hotel supervisor came and saw everything and all she can do is change me to another room.

  • Best view and best staff!

Perfect bund view room! I usually didn't expect much on the view as many hotels over advertise it. But this one is a true gem. I would highly recommend booking a bund view room with club access. Then you are ensured to have a chill vacation stay in Shanghai!

  • Great view of Shanghai buildings and the Bund.

Great views, comfy bed, spacious bathroom. The location is close enough to walk to many areas. But apart from the view, it's just another hotel. No pool surprised me in a city that hits high temperatures in Summer. Lobby restaurant had very well prepared food, but was a sterile experience otherwise, like eating in a cafeteria.

  • Missing Shampoo and Poor Room Preparation

I had a frustrating and frankly unacceptable experience at Hyatt on the Bund Shanghai. When I was taking the shower, I was shocked to find that there was no shampoo provided—only two bottles of conditioner and one body wash. This kind of oversight is simply not acceptable for a hotel of your reputation and star rating. It clearly shows that no one properly checked whether the room was fully and correctly prepared. What made the situation even worse was that I had to call the front desk while soaking wet, and then stand there dripping for nearly five minutes before someone finally brought the shampoo. This is not only a serious inconvenience, but it also shows a lack of basic hospitality and attention to detail. Frankly, I am very upset. The front desk was also indifferent. When I checked out, no one apologized for their poor service. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone who visit Shanghai.
