Two nights in Changsha Grand Hyatt
Your awesome helpful check in staff (Cathy?) help us reserve tickets to Mao Statue, our main reason for staying at Changsha Grand Hyatt, we requested but did not get the river view room, Lucas Zhang promptly made one available the next day but we were too overwhelmed to change room. I must say Locus made good effort to make our stay a pleasant one. Oh, to top it off, when we were hungry at night, your bell boy Kiron helped us purchase take out HK food & delivered to our room. Changsha Grand Hyatt made it one of the most memorable holiday for us
great location and friendly staff
Facility is nice and staff members are friendly. Lounge food is above average. Breakfast is decent. Location is unbeatable.
Expectations exceeded
My recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Changsha was exceptional, particularly given the high-pressure environment of the Labor Day holiday. The hotel managed to balance luxury and efficiency perfectly. The communication was top-tier from the start. I received an email prior to arrival acknowledging the high occupancy rate and proactively explaining upgrade availability. While no suites were open, I deeply appreciated the transparency and the effort to provide the best available options. The staff was incredibly attentive throughout my stay, ensuring my Globalist benefits such as early check in and late check out wwre offered. The dining experience was a major highlight. Being able to sample local Changsha delicacies like Sugar Oil Baba (糖油粑粑), Scallion Pancakes (葱油饼), Crawfish (小龙虾), and Stinky Tofu (长沙臭豆腐) within the hotel was fantastic. The flavors were authentic, and having them in a five-star setting provided total peace of mind regarding food hygiene. A special shout-out to Executive Chef Jerry Zhang. His passion is evident; I saw him everywhere—from managing the breakfast rush at Grand Cafe to overseeing evening canapés in the Grand Lounge, and right back in the kitchen for dinner service. His energy and friendliness really elevate the guest experience. Location & Final Thoughts: the location is unbeatable for exploring the city. Between the proactive service, the dedication of the culinary team, and the perfect placement in the heart of Changsha, this is easily one of the best Hyatt properties in the region. I look forward to returning!
A great ending to our Hunan trip
Grand Hyatt Changsha was the last hotel stay of our trip. We had great stays in all the hotels in Zhangjiajie, Wulingyuan and Phoenix ancient town. Grand Hyatt Changsha was the cherry on top of the cake. It was really spacious and comfortable. My aunt could not stop marvelling at the space and the functionality of the room. We unfortunately got a smoking room as I forgot to specify during booking. The faint cigarette smell was only detected in the bathroom, which did not bother us that much. We had 9 rooms altogether, so we were split into different levels. Though the hotel was fully booked during our stay, the breakfast area was large enough such that we did not have to queue for food nor did we feel claustrophobic. The staff were very attentive and cleared the dishes very quickly. It was a very comfortable dining experience. We had dinner at the Chinese restaurant at level 5. Unfortunately that meal was mediocre at best and did not live up to expectation. The service staff were exemplary. Nonetheless, Grand Hyatt Changsha left a very positive impression and we will not hesitate to return again.
Beyond expectations: Great staffs n Services
Very good location with great scenery view near the river, walking distance to subway, shopping malls and plaza. Clean room and pay attention to details, meet beyond customer's expectations. Staffs are super friendly and helpful. Will stay again here for next visit if any.
A Severe Lack of Communication Skills Unbecoming of a Global Brand's Reputation
I visited the Grand Hyatt Changsha for a two-night stay to attend a business meeting. From the moment I checked in, the hotel staff had difficulty communicating in English. They couldn't understand my questions on their own and had to call another employee over just to continue the conversation. Since it was late when I checked in, I tried to order dinner through room service. However, the room service staff also had severe difficulty communicating in English. They ended up having to send an employee to my room just to take the order. (The staff member who visited also had trouble with English, and I had to painstakingly place the order by pointing at items on the menu.) After a long delay, I called room service again to check on the status, but communication was not possible. In the end, I had to cancel the order after waiting for about two hours. I then tried calling the front desk to report this issue, but again, communication in English was impossible, so I couldn't even file a complaint. For any foreigners planning to stay at the Grand Hyatt Changsha, I'd advise you to be prepared for communication challenges in English and have a translation app ready. On a positive note, the hotel's facilities are nice.
Superb stay with awesome river view
Dont bother to think too much about which hotel to stay in Changsha. Just choose Grand Hyatt Changsha! Spacious room/suite, stunning view of xiang river, comfortable twin beds (although bit squeesy for 2 adults in one bed), great breakfast buffet selection; Great Shower has mixer with easy push buttons for rain shower or spray; Separate toilet with bidet. Hotel near to shopping area and food street.
A fine stay during the Dragon Boat holiday weekend
Spent 7 nights at Grand Hyatt Changsha in a corner city view suite (upgrade certificate used) on the 61st floor, the hotel's highest floor. The suite had exceptional views of the city's mesmerizing light show as well as partial river views. Grand Club on the 6th floor had great food and attentive service at each of our visits. Loved eggs to order, the noodle bar and especially the bread brulee. Grand Cafe in the lobby was a breakfast buffet option with even more food choices but generally preferred the Club ambiance and attention. The hotel's location across from the river and short walks to Metro stations made sightseeing easy. Hotel had a door directly into HiSense mall with tenant WenHeyYou as a destination in itself. IFS and pedestrian shopping streets were nearby. Grand Hyatt Changsha comes highly recommended.
Surprisingly nice stay at Grand Hyatt Changsha (with great food!)
Grand Hyatt Changsha is probably one of the best Grand Hyatts that I've ever been to. The location is great, the room is well decorated, the staff are generally very enthusiastic and helpful, and the Grand Club has *superb* food and beverage throughout the day (the afternoon tea is really good!). I was upgraded to a river-view room on the top floor (61st) which has a great view over the western Changsha; and the staff provided welcome fruit and highly professional services over the 2 nights of my stay. The only potential hiccup I encountered was with the negligence of the Grand Club over the pre-check-in communications, but it wasn't a big problem. I enjoyed my stay very much, and highly recommend the property!
best stay
Grand Hyatt Changsha provided me with an excellent stay experience. Grace Mao and Tina Yu are very warm hearted, providing very nice service, always considering the needs of their guests. They are one of the best Hyatt employees I have ever encountered.
Enjoyable Stay
Stayed there couple of nights with my friend ; overall it’s an enjoyable stay and appreciate the free upgrade to River View Room . However, there are couple things I like to point out and hope they could be improved in the future : pillow quality quite under standard ; housekeeping didn't turn up for daily cleaning one day until we called front desk around 3pm ; check out staff could have been more helpful in terms of reminding the VIP benefit at airport so that I didn’t have to make call to inquiry on my way on airport . Despite above I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one to anyone coming to Changsha .
Room for Improvement on Cleanliness and Service at Grand Hyatt Changsha
The check-in process was satisfactory; I was assigned to the 61st floor, the highest room available at the Grand Hyatt Changsha. However, upon entering the room, I noticed stains and dust on the bedside table, sink, bathroom, and dressing room floor windows. Additionally, there was a piece of iron shaped like the letter "R" on the carpet, which I am certain was neither from the hotel nor myself, but likely from the previous occupant. When I brought this to the attention of room service, it took over thirty minutes for someone to respond. When I requested to have the cleaning crew re-clean the room, they offered to "upgrade" me to a different room type on the 57th floor, which I accepted. However, when I entered the new room, I found it was virtually the same except for the placement of the cupboards and sofas. Moreover, the Dyson hairdryer and smart toilet in the first room had been replaced with a generic hairdryer and an old-fashioned toilet. Finally, when I collected my luggage while checking out, the hotel staff invited me to leave a positive review of the Grand Hyatt Changsha on Trip.com, where I booked my room, in exchange for a set of L'Occitane toiletries. While it is understandable to seek positive reviews, I suggest that the most sustainable way for Grand Hyatt Changsha to achieve this is by improving the hotel's hygiene and room service.
Excellent hotel
Great location at the heart of Changsha. Walking distance to Wuyi Square, Pozi Street and the Xiang River. Excellent view from the room, the river, the Juzizhou and Yuelu Mountain. Nice staff and authentic local food. Th No.1 choice to stay in Changsha .
Greatest hotel in the mkt.
I really enjoyed my stay in this property. I was greeted by general manager of the hotel, who was genuinely very caring and interested to make sure all my needs were satisfied, breakfast dinner was awesome with great selection service and great quality of food. Love the hotel. Will always stay in this hotel.
Service needs improvement
Great location and fancy hotel. But disappointing on the service. First, Checking in around 4pm and told my room was not ready. Asking for directions and food delivery receive very rude attitude. Walking back to the hotel room through main entrance and cars are hoking at pedestrians. My room was nice and clean. Not good service that I expected
The only hotel with the best river view and location.
I’d recommend Grand Hyatt Changsha to anyone who first came to Changsha. The superb view and location. Couldn’t be more convenient. The staff are super nice and the facilities are in good conditions as well.
Nice Trip than Expectation
1. Facilities are well maintained. 2. Staff are responsive for requests. 3. Excellent location for exploring local signature restaurants and tiny family-run shops nearby. 4. Great view from top overlooking the city. if the Samsung TV could be using DLNA easily with iPhone, it would be awesome. After all, we do really watch TV that much as 10 years back.
Impressive services
+Perfect location in downtown with river view. +Impressive services during and even after the stay. +Also provide COVID test in the hotel, which is very convenient. Would be my first choice next time visiting Changsha.
Grand Club Experience @Grand Hyatt Changshaa
Grand club has upgraded in 2022. Large selection of after work drinks, delicious appetizers and snacks, and refrigerator filled with fruits, cakes and other desserts. Daily updates to snacks and everyday favorites like personal noodle soup. I love it.
Best Hotel in Changsha
Great view and best service. The hotel employee are very nice and helpful, and really treat me as friends/family. It make guests feel good that you are remembered by hotel people, that they can always call your name and greet you when you are back here.
