Subways & Buses
The city’s rail and bus system is operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), also known as the MTA New York City Transit. Both options operate 24/7 and are relatively inexpensive, environmentally friendly ways to see the five boroughs.
Subways are the quickest and easiest ways to get around NYC. There are multiple stations surrounding our hotel, including the 33rd Street - Herald Square Subway Station, 34th Street - Herald Square Subway Station and the 33rd Street and 28th Street stations.
Buses offer a more scenic way to explore the city and many of NYC’s buses are hybrid-electric models. Around our hotel, you’ll find bus stops at W 32nd Street/Avenue of the Americas, 5th Avenue/W 33rd Street and 5th Avenue/W 30th Street.
Penn Station
Pennsylvania Station, also known as New York Penn Station or just Penn Station, is the main intercity railroad station in New York City. It is located on W 31st Street, and is less than a 10-minute walk out of our hotel. It sits entirely underground beneath Madison Square Garden.
Grand Central Terminal
One of the nation’s most historical landmarks and the busiest train station in the country, Grand Central Terminal is located less than a mile from our hotel (0.8 mile). You can reach it in less than a 20-minute walk. The Terminal is serviced by multiple subway lines and buses, and even has two taxi stands.
