The National Gallery of Modern Art has a collection of 100 works by Amrita Sher-Gil, one of India’s most celebrated female artists.

This museum run by the Archaeological Survey of India is in the Mumtaz Mahal, a large palace named after Emperor Shah Jahan’s beloved queen.

The Centre and library present an impressive range of educational and cultural programmes throughout the year and are open to scholars and the general public.

This famed urban village is a lively entertainment hub, overflowing with restaurants, cafés, bars and live music venues with trendy boutiques and galleries. The area dates to medieval times and there are still reminders, including a large water tank, a mosque, madrassa and several tombs.

Built in 1659 by Fatehpuri Begum, one of Shah Jahan’s wives, this mosque is surrounded by some of Delhi’s busiest wholesale markets today. Many of the markets offer spices and other food items, but the courtyard is remarkably tranquil.

Located within the Sangeet Natak Academy, this musical treasure trove has a collection of over 700 indigenous musical instruments, out of which about 250 are on permanent display. The museum bears testament to India’s rich musical history and is also a hugely important resource to preserve and nurture India’s folk and tribal musical traditions.

Built in 1656 by Shah Jahan, the Friday Mosque is the largest and most impressive mosque in Delhi. More than 5,000 workers spent five years constructing this mosque.

As with all Sikh gurudwaras, the concept of langar is practiced here, and anyone, of any faith, is welcome to enjoy a free meal. More than 10,000 people are fed from this community kitchen located here every day.

Located about 30 minutes from our hotel, this important cultural institution houses four art galleries, a theatre, the city’s oldest amphitheater, a garden boutique, Prakriti and the much-loved Triveni Tea Terrace Café.

This 138-foot-high war memorial arch is India’s tribute to the Indian soldiers who died in the First World War and the Second Anglo-Afghan War. Built in 1921, it was modeled on the great arches found in ancient Rome and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

This village dates back to the 14th century and is now known as Delhi’s fashion village. The narrow lanes of the urban village are lined with designer fashion boutiques and some wonderful street art.

This is the musicians’ music store. This family-operated store has been making Indian stringed instruments since 1920. Their clients range from national and international bands and singers to young children receiving their first instrument.

This pop-up market on Sunday mornings in Old Delhi sells everything from fashion to hardware and electronics. There is a huge variety of stock to discover with most if it being second-hand or surplus.

Located outside of Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place, the stalls in this specialist bazaar stock the widest array of bangles (bracelets) imaginable.

Created in 1981 by master tea tasters Sanjay and Naina Kapur, this was Delhi’s first tea gallery and specializes in India’s finest tea. Taste an elegant first flush Darjeeling, the Champagne of tea, or a robust Assam breakfast blend and don’t miss the superb masala chai mix.

Located near the hotel, the Emporio Mall houses some of the world’s most famous luxury brands and collections from many of India’s best fashion designers.
