Surfing with the Chef

Begin your morning in the kitchen preparing breakfast with Chef Pierre Albaladejo, and then take surf lessons at one of the local beaches. The day will conclude with a meal on the beach, prepared by Chef Pierre himself. Guests will be presented with their own personalized longboard that will be shipped back home for them.

Outdoor Recreation

Tee it up at our award-winning golf club, lay out by the pool, play a match on the tennis courts, or spend the day in the Recreation Center, which features sand volleyball, a croquet field, horseshoes, a badminton court, and bocce ball.

Moonlight Beach Express

A wide, sandy beach beloved by locals, Moonlight State Beach offers swimming, surfing, and recreation. Enjoy round-trip shuttle transportation to the beach on the Moonlight Beach Express, which includes complimentary rental of beach chairs, umbrellas, and sand toys. Offered seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The Game Room

The Game Room features a pool table, shuffleboard, foosball, and board games in a fun-filled open space. Teens feel right at home in the Riptide Lounge with a wide assortment of video games, six Playstation centers, Xbox Kinect, and an air hockey table.

Animals and Nature

Batiquitos Lagoon

Batiquitos Lagoon is a coastal wetland located in Carlsbad. It is one of the few remaining tidal wetlands on the southern California coast, and is protected by the California Department of Fish and Game as an ecological reserve. The lagoon is best experienced from the main nature trail that runs parallel to the Aviara Golf Course.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Get wild at the San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park, a wildlife preserve that protects 2,500 Asian and African animals, including many endangered species. Enjoy an exciting expedition on the Africa Tram Safari and get close with curious giraffes, massive rhinos, graceful gazelles, and horned antelopes.

San Diego Zoo

Spanning 100 acres in Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo is home to over 4,000 animals of 800 different species. One of the largest zoos in the world, San Diego Zoo features an amazing collection of animals and plants in realistic exhibits—from the Arctic to Africa.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps

Explore the creatures of the ocean at Birch Aquarium at Scripps, the largest oceanographic exhibit in the country. Located at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the aquarium features 60 habitats of Pacific marine life, tanks filled with saltwater fish, and a 70,000-gallon tank that simulates the La Jolla kelp forest.

The Wave Waterpark

The Wave Waterpark has wild water slides, tube rides, relaxing rivers, a wave pool, a competition pool, and a children's activity area. Zoom down the slide tower, tube down the riptide slide, and float down the Lazy River.

Magdalena Ecke YMCA Skate Park

The skate park includes a street course with quarter pipes, bank ramps, a 13-foot vertical ramp, and a keyhole pool for skateboarding and blading, as well as a "tot lot" for smaller children.

Museum of Making Music

The Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad is an interactive adventure that tells the story of the innovations that shaped American popular music. Visitors can see, hear, and interact with a century's worth of instruments and musical history.

Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is devoted to the exploration and presentation of art created since 1950. Located in downtown San Diego and in the coastal community of La Jolla, MCASD features an amazing collection of contemporary works of art in a myriad of media, and a dynamic schedule of thought-provoking exhibits.

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park

Early California-style architecture has been preserved in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, lending an old-fashioned ambiance to the area. The birthplace of California, this historic district boasts several museums, restaurants, art galleries, and historic sites, and 150 shops.

Mission San Luis Rey

The largest mission in California, the restored Mission San Luis Rey is a National Historic Site. Mission buildings are a blend of Spanish, Moorish, and Mexican architectures. The mission is still used as a seminary and parish church and houses a retreat center.

La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Music Society

San Diego's premier classical music presenter, La Jolla Music Society features visiting orchestras and ensembles in five concert series. The Main Series offers performances at Copley Symphony Hall.

San Diego Symphony

The San Diego Symphony's regular season runs from the fall through spring. Summer Pops outdoor concerts are held in the summer months at Embarcadero Marina Park South.

San Diego Opera
