As a global leader in hospitality, Hyatt knows that diversity, inclusion and equality significantly enhances the quality of products and services we provide to our guests and colleagues. We value and encourage diverse viewpoints and leverage them to guide and outperform the competition.
We care for people so they can be their best, reflected in our globalized initiatives for a #WorldOfUnderstanding. The #WorldOfHyatt is built on the simple idea that a little understanding goes a long way. Listening, noticing others, extending a meaningful gesture can make all the difference.
Hyatt is committed 100% to the LGBT community, and we are not shy to show this in everything we represent from our employees, customers and the global community. In fact, we were honored for the 14th consecutive year as one of the few “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality” – a result of our 100 percent rating on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI) by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The full HRC CEI report is available online at www.hrc.org/cei.
Hyatt was also the first major hotel company to offer domestic partner benefits over two decades ago, and has included sexual orientation in our Equal Employment Opportunity policy since 2000, as well as gender identity since 2002. In 2012, Hyatt made a statement in support of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), and continues to support these similar initiatives today and into the future.
Over the years, Hyatt has worked with various LGBT organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA), the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and Out & Equal, among others.
