Under Canvas White Mountains
Halcyon hikers’ rest
Mellow montane meadows
Embraced by meadows in the peaceful wilds of northern New Hampshire, Under Canvas White Mountains is set to your healing montane hideaway. Opening in June 2026, its proximity to the Connecticut River and backdrop of pastoral peaks will make outdoor pursuits an appealing pull. And with tricked-out tents to return to, fireside s’more sessions and season-led dining, your tented base itself will be an equally captivating affair.
Under Canvas White Mountains will be open between 4 June and 11 October 2026.
Please note Ahead of Under Canvas White Mountains opening, some of this photography was not shot in New Hampshire but is representative of what you can expect.

Worth Getting Out of Bed For
Set across northern New Hampshire and a small section of western Maine, the White Mountains make up this escape’s bucolic backyard. Its 80,000-acre National Forest is weaved with scenic hiking and biking trails (including part of the Appalachian Trail). For those who’d rather see these mountains’ sights from behind the wheel, the hailed Kancamagus Highway makes for a particularly panoramic drive. Or, leave the steering to the professionals and admire the scenes from aboard the Mount Washington Cog Railway, which makes the trundling climb up its eponymous mountain’s lofty summit.
Franconia Notch State Park has more arcadian pursuits, including guided horseback riding and foliage viewing in the fall. And for boating excursions, the Connecticut River and Moore Reservoir are your aquatic neighbors. Offset your nature-led excursions with a wander through this state’s quaint towns — Whitefield, Bethlehem, Lancaster and Littleton are all less than 25 minutes away by car.
