Dunia Camp’s tented suites are a masterclass in the classic safari set-up: tiered-timber decks frame each raised, canvas-sided suite, with savannah views that roll to the horizon from both your net-canopied bed indoors and the alfresco lounge area. This Seronera stay also has one tented suite for families, incorporating a second bedroom and bathroom for little Smiths.

Hotel Restaurant
Expect season-led dining that is proudly low on food miles. A commitment to sustainability and a celebration of local, indigenous ingredients underpin Asilia Africa’s approach to cuisine across all camps. Breads, cakes and even ice-creams are made freshly in-house, and dishes are always paired with South African wines.
At Dunia Camp, breakfast might be a picnic in the bush consisting of fresh fruits, yoghurt, muesli, freshly squeezed juices, baked pastries, breakfast sandwiches and wraps. But if you're staying in camp, you also have an option to start your day with hot dishes à la carte.
Across all Asilia Africa camps, the menu changes by the day; at each meal, there’ll be a choice of starters, mains, sides and desserts, with vegetarians as well served as meat eaters. Lunch on Wednesdays and dinner on Sundays are a distinctly Swahili affair, spotlighting local culinary traditions. If you have food preferences or dietary requirements, the camp’s kitchen team will be happy to adapt dishes to suit.

An armchair-dotted lounge at the main lodge is your sociable watering hole, with tables indoors and out on the deck; or you can choose to sip your sundowners from the privacy of your tent veranda.

Worth Getting Out of Bed For
Asilia’s Dunia Camp gives you access to several celebrated Serengeti map-pins. Granite outcrops, called the Moru Kopjes — favoured by big cats and close to black rhino — stand sentry over the plains. When the Great Migration moves north between March and June, masses of wildebeest and zebras graze the grasslands around camp. Between December and March, full-day excursions to the south allow you to get up close with herds during calving season. And, year round, the Seronera River is a prime hunting ground for hopeful predators. Sunrise hot-air balloon safaris are your memorable extra.
If you’re looking to build your stay at Dunia into a wider safari adventure, make it the bridge between two more esteemed Asilia outposts in East Africa. Kick off with three nights at The Highlands, in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where extraordinary game viewing is paired with crater hikes and geodesic-domed suites. Three nights at Dunia Camp should be your second stopping point before traversing the Kenyan border for three nights as Rekero Camp, set above a river crossing in Maasai Mara.
