Ahama
Sylvan cabana-dotted retreat
Riviera’s reflective side
Set on the Turkish Riviera and opening this June, Ahama comes with the promise of widescreen Mediterranean sunsets, pine-scented breezes and private cabanas set among the cool of the coastal canopy. Mindful diversions at this secluded bay retreat include sound baths, art therapy, qigong and watsu (water shiatsu) — or dive into forest bathing literally at the hotel’s pool in the woods.

Our Favourite Rooms
Ahama’s ravishing rooms and comely cabanas lean heavily into Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetics, featuring earthy tones and natural materials including jute, wood and stone, and making good use of sunlight. Deluxe Cabanas hit the sweet spot between standard and premier options. Bag the Sea View for acres of space, including a chunky terrace backdropped by Med panoramas.
Poolside
Retreat into the relative cool and shade of the forest, where the outdoor pool (and its accompanying bar) are open from 8am until 7pm.
Spa
No spa, but Ahama’s extensive roster of wellness activities includes t’ai chi, qi gong, shamanic rituals and sound baths, and you’ll be able to request in-room massage treatments.
Packing Tips
An appetite to bring a little Zen to your beach holiday, making the most of the hotel’s raft of mindful activities.
Also
Views from the lakeside fitness studio — in a picturesque spot — are sure to inspire even the most reluctant of gym bunnies; there’s a bonus alfresco CrossFit area out in the forest.
Дети
Over fives are welcome. Premier and Premium cabanas accommodate families of up to four; Deluxe cabanas sleep up to three. The Kids’ Atelier (for ages eight and over) offers a range of nature-based workshops, plus art and music sessions.

Food & Drink
Top Table
The jury’s out until Ahama opens in June, but Êge Umi's swoonsome setting right on the seafront seems likely to give it the edge.
Дресс-код
Keep it bright and breezy for alfresco dining under the Turkish sun: boho cotton kaftans and cool, light linens are in keeping with Ahama’s laidback ambience.
Hotel Restaurant
We expect Ahama’s quartet of dining options to give you plenty to sing about when the hotel opens in June. Êge Umi pairs its waterfront setting with Japanese-influenced sea-to-table dining, reserved for guests aged 14 and over. Modern Mex-Med cuisine is on the cards at beach-club-like Mezkla. The Glasshouse is open for all-day dining and transforms into a laidback lounge by night, with acoustic music sessions and mellow DJ sets. Smoke, salt and open flames underpin the cuisine at Ay, a restaurant inspired by the convivial atmosphere of ancestral Aegean feasts. Expect wood-fired seafood and meats, bold Levantine mezze and dishes finished with foraged herbs.
Hotel Bar
There are bars in all three of the main restaurants, with Mezkla open until 8pm and Êge Umi and the Glasshouse continuing to serve until after 11pm. The pool bar is open until 7pm.
Last Orders
The Glasshouse and Êge Umi keep the (beach) party going until after 11pm. Breakfast starts from 7am in the Glasshouse, and from 9am at Mezkla. Ay is open for dinner from 7.30pm to midnight.
Room Service
A dedicated menu means in-room dining is available around the clock.
Planes
Dalaman Airport is around 45 minutes away by car, and the hotel can organise private transfers at additional cost on request.
Automobiles
There’s plenty to keep you occupied in-resort, and boat charters may well prove the most appealing way to explore the coastline’s teal waters and hidden coves. But if you do feel the need for speed, car rental is available and there’s free valet parking at the hotel.
Worth Getting Out of Bed For
A full calendar of wellness activities is your jumping-off point at Ahama. You can go full immersion mode with a gong bath in the resort’s dedicated sound temple, or practise the gentle arts of qi gong and t’ai chi. Art therapy sessions offer the chance to unleash your inner Picasso or Pollock; while sunrise yoga, forest bathing and even ancient shamanic rituals lean in to the hotel’s serene setting.
Admire your Mediterranean locale from the water: paddleboarding, kayaking or swimming in the sheltered shallows, or indulging in a spot of watsu (aka water shiatsu).
Beyond the resort, you can charter a yacht for stylish sailing excursions to the Göcek Islands, spotting Roman ruins, secret coves and perhaps even the occasional loggerhead turtle along the way. Get your Lara Croft on at the ancient Lycian tombs hewn into the cliffs overlooking Fethiye. And set your heart aflutter on a hike through Butterfly Valley: accessible only by boat, this lush, narrow canyon is home to more than 100 species of the colourful critters.
