Max Brown 7th District
Mid-century maison
Creative quarter
Max Brown 7th District, part of Sircle Collection, in Neubau – Vienna’s hippest ‘hood – doesn’t just do the simple things well, it absolutely nails them. Officially, the focus is on four essential ‘pillars’ – bread (it’s delivered fresh every morning from the local bakery), coffee (naturally, in the coffee-house capital of Europe), bed (oh, just you wait…) and location (this is where the cool kids hang out). But there’s a whole lot more, too. Israeli chef Eyal Shani’s cooks up cauliflower and kebabs in Seven North’s open kitchen and there’s a cocktail bar overlooking street art on the terrace. In your home-from-home room, you’ll find mid-century design mixed with potted-plant life, avant garde art and a Crosley record player.

Packing Tips
Something fancy-ish – the 7th District might be super casual, but you’ll need formal wear if you’re heading to a classical concert.
Also
Eyal Shani is also the chef behind Israeli restaurant Miznon in Paris, so let’s just say he knows the recipe for success.

Food & Drink
Top Table
Pull up a stool at the open-kitchen counter, and watch the chefs at work.
Dress code
It’s a relaxed vibe, and even the tables and chairs are mismatched, so don’t sweat on a coordinated outfit. Jeans and trainers will do.
Hotel Restaurant
The industrial aesthetic continues at Seven North, the brainchild of TV-famous Israeli chef Eyal Shani. Expect a menu stacked with Southern Mediterranean goodness, from flatbreads and falafel to roasted veg reinvented by the ‘King of Cauliflower’ himself.
Hotel Bar
Seven North’s quirky cocktail menu features classics with a twist – try a honey-basil margarita, for example, or a white negroni. Sit up at the centrepiece bar, or take your tipple out to the sun-struck terrace.
Last Orders
A la carte breakfast buffet is available from 7am until 10.30am and dinner is from 6pm until 10pm. The bar is open till 1am.
Room Service
There isn’t any, but you won’t need it – there’s plenty to eat at Seven North or nearby.
Planes
Vienna is in the heart of Europe, and its international airport is well connected to major cities across the continent; direct flights with British Airways and Easyjet take around two hours from London. Wien International Airport is 23km from the hotel, which takes around half an hour in a taxi.
Trains
That central location means it’s easy to cover ground by train, too – Salzburg and Budapest are three hours away, and you can be in Prague or Munich in around five hours. For travel within the city, hop on the tram – the nearest stop is four minutes from the hotel on foot.
Automobiles
Vienna’s public transport is enviably good, so you don’t need a car in the city. If you’re tying your visit into an extended European road trip, you can hire at the airport or at a car rental kiosk in the city centre. Parking at the hotel costs €26 a night, if you can grab a spot.
Worth Getting Out of Bed For
With beds like these, nobody could blame you for having a duvet day…but then you’d never take part in Vienna’s coffee culture, let alone sample breakfast, lunch and dinner in the buzzed-about Mediterranean restaurant, Seven North. After a day of city sightseeing, make your reward a cocktail on the terrace, with views of Vienna’s art quarter and the abstract mural across the street. Hosting a party or private film screening? The hotel's Ateliers and Theatre can help you out.
Beyond the hotel itself, for a flavour of local life head to Naschmarkt (between Karlsplatz and Kettenbrückengasse), where 120 market stalls showcase international street food; on Saturdays, don’t miss the flea market. If you’re looking for a souvenir and a Mozart-shaped rubber duck just won’t cut it, try MAK Design Shop (Stubenring 5) instead, where you’ll find art prints and jewelry along with the kitchen gadgetry. Sous-Bois (Neustiftgasse 33) is a trendy stationery specialist for all things pretty and papery. No trip to Vienna is complete until a schnitzel’s in your stomach. For the very best in veal, head to the legendary Figlmüller (Wollzeile 5) – then follow it up with an impossibly chocolatey Sachertorte from Café Sacher.
