La Veleta locale
A literal haven in La Veleta, Muaré Tulum has stayed true to the Riviera Maya town’s bohemian roots, with a neutrals-only palette, tropical foliage, oversize thatching, and weaving, lots of weaving. There’s a curving pool with a jungle backdrop, plus a plunge pool in every suite that’s temperature-controlled to your preference. Nearby, there are of course beaches to sunbathe on, cenotes to swim in and Mayan ruins to explore, but hurry back for self-improvement at the healing center, a dip in your choice of pool and Mexico-via-the-Med meals at the open-air restaurant.

Gaudea, which is illuminated by candle at night for extra romance, serves a Mexico meets the Mediterranean menu; dishes include whipped cheese with honey and pomegranate; crispy octopus with chipotle, corn and truffle butter; and baked fish with red sauce, refried beans and guacamole, along with ceviches and tiraditos. At breakfast, you can order a healthy series of smoothies, power shots and bowls consisting of shredded coconut, cacao nibs, fresh fruit and nut butters.

Drinks are served at Gaudea’s bar all the way up to 10.30pm, with a signature citrus-y spritz made with orange, grapefruit and lemon that will have you gurning in a good way.

The international airport in Tulum is a 40-minute drive from the property. Hotel-arranged transfers are available on request for an additional charge.
Automobiles
If you’re on a Riviera road trip, there’s free parking at the hotel. Depending on the weather, the road leading to the hotel may become muddy; we recommend hiring a car or calling a cab if you plan to explore beyond the hotel.

There are daily happenings at Muaré Tulum, including a wholesome way to start your day (yoga class in the open-air shala at 9.30am) and sound-healing. The La Veleta locale means a perfect position for heading to the bright white beaches, mighty Mayan ruins and cenotes for subterranean swims. Also nearby is the Sian Ka'an reserve, one of the most diverse places on the planet. And you can continue on your wellbeing journey at the Mystika Museum, where you’ll be fully immersed in all kinds of wondrous woo-woo.
