The Mont
The Wilde side
Merry Merrion Square
If nothing quite says Fáilte like a pampered pup mascot, Dublin’s The Mont hotel is spot on for warm welcomes. A boutique hotel at the corner of city-central Merrion Square, it has mid-century-meets-industrial rooms, a cosy copper-coloured bar with an inventive menu of craft cocktails, screens showing the latest sport and, of course, Ireland’s best-known malty drink on tap. Explore the city – you’re right at the heart of it – by day and settle in for pints in the bar’s winter garden as night creeps in. Another drink? Ah, you will, you will…
Food & Drink
Top Table
Grab a table by the window if you fancy a spot of people watching (Wilde would approve) or snag a family-style table by the chef’s window to watch the pizza-making magic happen.
Dress Code
No need to dress to the nines for trendy Speranza or the Sin Bin Bar, but we’d recommend leaving your Guinness souvenir shirt for home use.
Hotel Restaurant
The breakfast buffet – a spread of pastries, jams, fresh fruits, meats and cheeses, cereals and fruit-filled smoothies – is served in Speranza. Hot breakfast favourites can be made to order and zippy teas and coffees are on offer as well.
Hotel Bar
The Sin Bin Bar pours out signature cocktails – love a Moscow Mule? Try its rum-based cousin, a Jerry Loves Ginger – and classic spirits. Unwind in the greenhouse-inspired winter garden, or catch a game of Gaelic football on the big screens (you’ll want burgers to go with the latter, of course).
Last Orders
Speranza is open for breakfast only, from 7am to 10.30am daily.
