Wasn't what I expected from Hyatt. Definitely a convention setting, not the best for the family when a convention is going on. The pool is really small and the outside space area it is not inviting at all. You come out and it looks like your on top of a commercial build roof...and not a roof top with a bar, umbrellas, and pool, but air conditioner units and roofing material. Plus the rooms were just okay, fixtures looked outdated, towels were very rough (so old), bed wasn't terrible, but a little squeaky, but most importantly be aware of the train noise. They provide you ear plugs upon arrival as they know this is an issue. Now to be fair, I didn't factor this into the review score as this issue is out of there control, but if you want a city view you will most likely be on the train side, just a heads up.

There were many problems with the escalators and elevators. The restaurants where understaffed and slow and the staff's attituded reflected it. The convention bathrooms where undermaintained with strong sewer smells emanating from the general bathroom areas.

Attended BGG Con 2023 at this property and was very impressed across the board. Beautiful space, very accommodating, and start was wonderful. Historic location added interest too. Our check in and check experience were among the best I have ever had.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff were friendly and professional. This is exactly what you should expect when coming to a Hyatt property. Would recommend to anyone traveling to the Dallas area

if you're going to a conference or event at the convention center, this is a very good option. You're right there at Reunion Tower and in walking distance to the convention center. Theoretically this eliminates the need to rent a car if you're flying in. You can just catch a ride from the airport to the hotel then walk everywhere. A lot of downtown Dallas is easily accessible from this area. This area also has a very strangely low amount of traffic. I mean, it's practically a ghost town on the roads, and I was there from Thursday to the following Monday. So, that was a lot of days in a row to not see a traffic jam in a major US city. There's really great restaurants very close by including some great hole in the wall bbq spots and small local restaurants that have probably been there for 50+ years. The Omni is just up the street and they have 4 or 5 restaurants. And, this hotel bar had the best food ever. It was really good. And given what you pay for a meal these days, not at all overpriced. But if you want 1 star really awesome bbq, it's close by, if you want 5 star steak, that's next door. Food options were probably my favorite part. The room was very nice (I was in a 1 king bed room on the 19th floor). Water pressure very strong. Water temperature as hot as you can stand. Two stage blackout blinds that were highly effective. 55" TV and a really comfortable easy chair. It looked like a leather office chair, but sat like you were in a cozy recliner. I'll have to get me one of those. If you're like me and you like to wander the cities you visit, the homeless population is pretty heavy to the Northwest behind all the historical stuff (in relation to the hotel). So, if that's not your bag, just turn around when you get there, but I had pleasant experiences with the fellas that I interacted with out that way.

The hotel just doesn’t feel like 4 stars. It’s run down. The pool is very small. Rooms are average, bathrooms are small. The parking is insane: you have two options: $42 per night for valet or $22 a night and it’s a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. Wild!

Valet stole candy bar from front seat, it was not replaced by hotel. Food at hotel is terrible. Tried all restaurants and nothing was worth it. Room with city view is noisy. Constant traffic and sirens. Didn’t sleep well.

Location of this hotel is great, walking distance to most attractions around downtown Dallas, the problem with it's limited seating capacity at lobby. No after hours business center, and the sound of water fountain was annoying. No easy parking for guests and you have to pay even for the cross the street parking lot. Options are limited, either highway view or the beautiful city of Dallas but you have to hear the subway/train station noise during the night and early morning

I checked in later in the evening so I suspected I was provided the worst room in the hotel - this was confirmed when I checked out and the young lady's eyes got really big when I told her my room number! We had a good chuckle and luckily, I was able to sleep through the freight elevator noises in the walls. There was a great mix of pillows, the beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. The hotel food for the conference I was attending was lackluster but the pizza ordered from one of the restaraunts was fanstastic. Be prepared with small bills for tips as the hotel is digital pay only.

Staff went above and beyond to help me with my convention travel case after it was broken by the airline. They found me materials to fix it so I wouldnt have to drag it. They went to the convention where I was setting up and brough them to me.
