This hotel is a lovely renovation of a deco building. The rooms facing the street have great windows that let in wonderful light and allow you to look at the beautiful buildings of Gran Via (and excellent blackout shades for sleeping). Despite the street's busyness, the rooms are very quiet. The staff is excellent — very pleasant and helpful. The location allows for an easy walk around Central Madrid, Plaza Mayor and Sol, as well to the hip areas of Chueca, Malasana, the up and coming Lavapies, and the antique zone of El Rastro. A bit longer walk takes you to all the famed museums, but if you don't want to walk, the subway is very handy and there are taxis that are easily available. I'd strongly recommend this hotel.
