"Stay at Thompson Hotel when in DC or don’t visit."

It was an amazing experience the entire stay. The valet gentleman named Bryant greeted me and welcomed me right away made me feel at home and the rest of the staff was exceptional as well. I stayed in the junior suite and it was beyond accommodating. Super clean super nice. The morning coffee and afternoon fruit infused water was amazing!

    "Beautiful"

Clean, Polite, & Crisp. Staff was pleasant and precise, rooms were updated and spotless. Will stay here again. Every time we visit DC, we stay near the Navy Yard and this is by far the most recommended.

    "Boutique Excellence"

A beautiful new property at Navy Yard (within eyeshot of the Nationals Stadium.) Not your usual chain hotel, and close to both the METRO and Washington National Airport. Highly recommended in an up-and-coming area.

    "Excellent experience"

The hotel is in a very desirable location and surrounded by many restaurants and shops. The Navy Yard neighborhood is terrific and close to all the monuments, government buildings, and museums you would come to DC to see. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

    "Perfect stay"

The Thompson is a beautiful, modern hotel located in Navy Yard. My best friend and I had traveled to DC for the Coldplay show @ FedEx field. The location was perfect - we didn't even feel like we were in downtown DC. The hotel is on the Anacostia River - there is a beautiful river walk located behind the hotel. One morning I sat on the bridge and watched the rowers & boats go by. Beautiful greenway, lots of people out with their dogs. The hotel itself is delicious right when you step inside. The smell is so beautiful. I can't describe it. The entire hotel smells wonderful. The hotel is so clean. I never saw a speck of garbage anywhere. Check in was very easy - we got in after 8pm and the person who checked us in gave us much needed bottles of water and a great recommendation for a late dinner. The hotel is so quiet. I almost feel the rooms are soundproof because I heard nothing. We were there mid-week so that may have the reason it was quiet. The hotel sits on the Anacostia River, which is so peaceful and lovely to wake up and take your coffee to. There are great restaurants everywhere, Nats Stadium is just a few blocks away and my fave, a great smoothie shop close by. Toastique. If you want a healthy option, hit Toastique while you are there. We stayed 2 nights and my friend and I both said we'd love to bring our husbands for a long weekend. The drive from the airport was easy - maybe 15 mins. Drive to FedEx field - maybe 30 mins. You have to valet park, but every hotel in that area is the same. Free coffee in the morning and they had a nice array of light options to eat. We only needed our car to go to the concert - we walked everywhere else. I loved the bathroom - at night, you can set the lights so that a light underneath the vanity will sense entering the bathroom so it turns on automatically. So many small details that you wouldn't think of. Its nice having these small luxuries when these are things I don't normally experience when I travel. You will be SO glad you chose The Thompson.

    "Great stay"

Everything was perfectly clean and the modern amenities made the entire experience feel pretty luxurious. Great location next to the water and Nationals Park. We walked along the harbor, got food, and even bought last minute tickets to the Nats game. This hotel has everything you need within a short walks distance.

    "Super staff, plus stylish accommodations"

The Thompson offers a fantastic location in the Yards district of DC, walking distance from a great selection of restaurants, coffee shops, and supermarket. The common areas are lovely and welcoming--a great space to hang out, work, or gather. Rooms are stylish and sizable -- very comfortable. During my stay the F&B options were all closed, so that was a limitation, but ample options were close by -- and the warm and professional staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful;. It's a great choice for a D.C. business or vacation stay.

"Thompson D.C. is a good choice"

Great location, great roof top bar and clean comfortable rooms. We were in two rooms one of the rooms was limited on closet space so consider upgrading to get more space. The lobby was a good place to meet up and just catch up with our party & friends. Walked to the Nationals game with no problem.
