The staff are incredible, the property is stunning, and the food and drinks are fantastic. The modern, beachy architecture plus the incredibly beautiful landscaping are paradise.
Prior to the trip, we exchanged several messages with the concierge team via email and text - it was so easy, smooth, and provided confidence and trust before we even arrived.
We used the hotel's private transportation and it was a very well-organized, end-to-end experience from the airport to the hotel and back. Upon arrival at SJD, the hotel representative was very easy to find, greeted us warmly, and our SUV arrived within minutes. Luis greeted us upon arrival at the hotel and helped us on our way out - really smooth customer service. Upon departure, we were dropped off at the airport and a Cape liaison was waiting for us to make sure we had everything we needed.
The rooms were incredible - from the modern, surf, laid-back design, to the extra-wide balcony swing, to the incredible glass shower from which you can see the ocean. We spent every afternoon on the balcony swing because it was so beautiful and relaxing.
The house cleaning and turn down service teams perform magic - this is obviously an extremely hard-working team and their efforts are noticed! We loved discovering what flavor of shortbread cookies were going to show up on our nightstands each evening :)
Breakfast each morning at The Ledge was perfect, from the hosts, to the servers, to the absolutely delicious and fresh food (highly recommend the breakfast bar!). Lunch at the pool was wonderful (acai bowls and poke bowls for me, tacos for my husband). I am blanking on names (forgive me!) but all the staff were top-notch.
Dinner at each on-site restaurant was great. We loved The Ledge and The Rooftop - so fresh, artisanal, and elevated. Jesus was our waiter one evening and his welcoming personality elevated our experience.
The pool staff were fantastic: attentive, friendly, and checked-in as needed. We opted for the in-pool chairs one day and a beautiful cabana the other day. Forgive me for missing names!
The guest services manager was warm, kind, and attentive.
One thing that I thought was incredible was the staff's attention to detail with cleaning. Every morning we saw them deep cleaning different parts of the property - from the cabana structures and washing all the cabana cushion covers, to cleaning and polishing the elevators. The dedication was not missed!
