Convert your Gold Passport points into a cash donation to the American Red Cross

In the aftermath of the recent hurricanes, countless numbers of people have found themselves without basic life necessities. However, there is a chance for you to provide both hope and generosity. Through December 31, 2005, we invite you to convert your Gold Passport points into a cash donation to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita relief, which will be used to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.

Members may convert their Gold Passport points in 5,000-point increments; each 5,000-point increment will be converted into a $40 cash donation. A minimum donation of 5,000 points is required, and there is no maximum limit to the number of points you may choose to donate.

To make a donation:

  • E-mail donations@hyatt.com and include the following information: name, address, Gold Passport account number and the number of points you wish to convert in 5,000-point increments.
  • Call Gold Passport Customer Service at 1-800-228-3360 (U.S. and Canada only) or your nearest Worldwide Reservation Centre and ask to support the Hyatt Gold Passport Hurricanes Katrina and Rita Relief Effort.
  • Donations will be accepted through December 31, 2005.
  • For more information about the American Red Cross, please visit www.redcross.org.
Please take a few minutes to make a difference to the victims of these natural disasters. Thank you for your generosity.

You must be a Gold Passport member to participate. Donations may be made between 9/27/05 and 12/31/05. Members may convert Gold Passport points to cash donations to the Red Cross at a conversion ratio of 5000 points to USD$40. A minimum of 5000 points is required for each conversion request; all conversions are in 5000-point increments. Members should consult with their own tax advisors regarding whether their donations of Points to Charity may be tax deductible. Once Hyatt Gold Passport points have been converted into cash donation they will no longer be available for use in the Gold Passport program. Members may donate up to the maximum number of points in their account in 5000-point increments. All Hyatt Gold Passport points converted to cash donations are final. Donations to the American Red Cross will be made by check on a monthly basis. Donations will be split evenly between the hurricane relief funds for Katrina and Rita.
