Family Activities

The Water Mine

The Water Mine is a family friendly water park featuring more than an acre of water slides, fountains, flumes, sprays and interactive play areas, surrounded by the Rattlesnake River that is ideal for tubing down the 2.5 mph currents. The Kid's area recreates the old west with covered wagons, rattlesnake floats and water-filled ore carts.

Frying Pan Park

Open daily, Frying Pan Farm Park interprets and preserves the farm life of the 1920s through the 1950s by showing the agricultural process and rural life of the citizens of Fairfax County. Take a trip out to explore landscape, culture and recreational environment out on the farm. Admission to Frying Pan Farm Park is free.

Sully Historic Site

On the National Register for Historic Places, Sully Historic Site in Chantilly was originally the country home of Richard Bland Lee and Elizabeth Collins Lee. Sully Plantation was home for several more families after 1811, including during the Civil War. Guided tours are offered.

Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts

During your visit, catch a show at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts offering over 100 annual live performances. The Park features 117 acres of dining and fun family activities, plus year round outdoor recreation, like hiking, picnicking and sledding.
