Beaches

Yas Beach

Situated on the southern shore of Yas Island, this location is a real paradise for sun worshippers. There are also fun features available to keep guests entertained, such as a volleyball net, as well as kayaks and paddle boards for rent. This is a prime spot for families.

Al Bateen Beach

This beach is a Blue Flag winner, meaning that it conforms to the strictest international standards concerning cleanliness, safety, and accessibility. The open beach is manned by 19 lifeguards. In addition to an outdoor playing area with swings and slides, there are picnic stations and a volleyball and football court.

The Corniche Beach

Abu Dhabi’s pristine Corniche beachfront has been awarded the coveted Blue Flag status: the internationally renowned eco-label for beaches and marinas that guarantees clean and safe bathing water. You can’t swim out very far; floating fences keep you within 40 meters (131 feet) of the beach, and there are plenty of lifeguards around.

Saadiyat Beach Club

One of the most glamorous beach settings in Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Beach Club is home to four great bars and restaurants, a gorgeous coastline with cabanas, sun loungers, and even bungalows. You'll get to share the beach with hawksbill turtles! There is also a fantastic pool surrounded by huge, private cabanas, and a kids' pool.

Sightseeing

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the largest mosques in the world, with a capacity for more than 40,000 worshippers. The grand mosque features 80 domes, about 1,000 columns, 24-carat gold plated chandeliers, and the world’s largest hand-woven carpet.

Capital Gate

Capital Gate, developed by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, has been certified as the “World’s Furthest-Leaning Man-Made Tower” by Guinness World Records. It leans 18 degrees westward—more than four times that of Pisa’s famous leaning tower.

Manarat Al Saadiyat

Manarat Al Saadiyat literally means "the place of enlightenment." It is a 15,400-square-meter (165,000 square-foot) visitor center designed to bring the vision of the island to life. The exhibition is on permanent display and provides visitors with an interactive narrative on the history and cultural vision behind the island.

Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital

Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital is the world’s largest and most advanced falcon hospital. Its highlight is a falcon display museum, as well as a facility with free-flying falcons. Guided tours of this award-winning specialist hospital are available.

Abu Dhabi Mall

With over 200 shops and an average of 40,000 visitors a day, this is more than just a shopping destination. It has plenty of restaurants and coffee shops, a children's play area, and a Cineplex—and look out for big-name outlets like Paris Gallery, Carolina Herrera, Zara, and H&M.

Marina Mall

This mall features a 100-meter (328-foot) viewing platform, an ice rink, a bowling alley, a Cineplex, musical fountains, and hundreds of big-name brands. A true Abu Dhabi landmark, Marina Mall's many restaurants and coffee shops make it possible to spend a full day here.

The Galleria on Al Maryah Island

The Galleria has over 130 of the world’s most renowned brand outlets, including 50 Abu Dhabi "firsts." Designer labels and high-end brands now with their first store in the emirate are: Aspinal of London, Berluti, Boucheron, Celine, Diane von Furstenberg, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, Mulberry, Paul Smith, and Tory Burch.

World Trade Center Souk and Mall

This contemporary revival of a historic district within the heart of the city—the old Central Market, which was the business and trading hub—is now a fully integrated, mixed-use development with a mall, a modern souk, offices, and residences.

Sports and Fitness

Scuba Diving

Scuba diving is one of the most fascinating sports in Abu Dhabi. The placid water of the Arabian Gulf is home to a rich abundance of sailfish, marlin, spotted eagle rays, and barracuda, just to name a few species. Recommended dive centers are the Dolphin Bay Company, Abu Dhabi Sub Aqua Club, and Arabian Divers and Sport Fishing Charters.

Flyboards UAE

This is one of the most thrilling water sport activities to hit Abu Dhabi. If you have ever wanted to soar into the sky or jump in and out of the water like a dolphin, fly boarding is definitely for you. The first company of its kind in the region offers fly boarding sessions with a professional coach.

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club

Designed by golfing legend Gary Player, the 18-hole masterpiece golf club is the Arabian Gulf’s first and only ocean course. Over a third of the course has views of the Saadiyat coastline, where dolphins are regularly spotted.
