Local Attractions

The Big Buddha

Around a 40-minute drive from the hotel is located one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island – the Big Buddha. The 45-metre marble Buddha statue on top of Mount Nagakerd offers panoramic views. With a clear sky, the image can be seen from as far away as Karon Beach and Phuket Town. It’s free to visit and open 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Phuket Old Town

Being influenced by Chinese, Phuket culture and architecture can be seen everywhere, including the Sino-Portuguese buildings (the Chinese row houses) in Phuket Old Town, where a Chinese Vegetarian Festival is held every year. Guests can enjoy shopping and street food at the Sunday weekend market as well.

Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi Island is an ideal location for sea lovers who enjoy crystal-clear waters with a chance to go snorkelling, especially Maya Beach, which is where The Beach was filmed. It takes about 40 minutes to drive to Rassada Pier. From the pier, it will take around one hour by speedboat or two hours by ferryboat to reach Tonsai Pier at Phi Phi Island.

Prompthep Cape

The must-visit viewpoint for sunset is Promthep Cape. It is a romantic and photogenic spot to see a gorgeous greenery cape with bay and sea views. You would have probably seen it if you flew into Phuket International Airport.

James Bond Island

James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan), located to the northeast of Phuket, is one of those bucket list items many people want to tick-off when in Phuket. The most famous spot is Ko Tapu, or the “needle” formed by limestone rock, which is about 40 metres from shore and was featured in the James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun.


Patong Beach

Patong Beach is Phuket's longest beach at three kilometres. It is best known for its dusk-to-dawn nightlife and is jam-packed with hundreds of restaurants, discos, bars and clubs, most of which are centred around Bangla Road. Hyatt Place Phuket Patong is located about 200 metres away from the north end of Patong Beach.

Karon Beach

Located south of Patong Beach and north of Kata Beach, Karon Beach is the third-longest beach on Phuket. There are plenty of choices for dining, shopping and nightlife. From the beach, if sky is clear, visitors can see the statue of Big Buddha.

Kata Beach

Passing Karon Beach to the south is where Kata Beach is located. With a length of1.5 kilometres, the beach is fun and has loads of activities, especially for families. The beach becomes shaded later in the day and is less crowded than Patong. Passing Kata Beach to the south, there is a popular viewpoint – Karon Viewpoint (despite the fact that it closer to Kata than Karon).

Kamala Beach

Located to the north of Patong is Kamala Beach. In contrast to Patong, Kamala is a haven for those who prefer a quieter beach and therefore is a popular spot for retirees or long-term visitors. Kamala Viewpoint, located to the north of the beach, offers spectacular views of Laem Sing beach and Kamala Bay. Kamala Friday Market is an interesting way to experience a bit of local life – open 2-7:30 p.m.

Bangtao Beach

Bangtao Beach is halfway between the airport and Patong Beach. There are many luxurious resorts and villas along the six-kilometre beach.

Surin Beach

This area is relatively posh as it is dominated by high-end resorts and houses. It is one of the nicest beaches in Thailand due to its fine white sand and turquoise water.


Jungceylon Shopping Centre

At Jungceylon Shopping Centre, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, as well movies, massage and shopping. If you have your little ones along, Kidzoona, a large playground, is not to be missed.

Central Festival Phuket

Central Festival Phuket is an air-conditioned one-stop shopping mall about a 20-minute drive from the hotel. There are over 120 outlets offering a wide range of dining and shopping for international brand names.

Baan Rim Pa

Baan Rim Pa, long established as one of the most famous Thai restaurants, offers “Royal Thai Cuisine” and has amazing sunset views. It’s just a short walk from the hotel.

Banzaan Fresh Market

The market is located just behind Jungceylon with indoor and outdoor areas. Baanzaan is a Hokkien word meaning “fresh market”. It is open all day and offers a wide variety of vendors, from clothes to fruits, as well as a food court. In the morning, the market is full with fresh food and fruits. Evening till late night, the area around the market will feature street food including a superb choice of seafood.


Phuket FantaSea

This cultural theme park offers a spectacular Las Vegas-style show with elephants in a sculptured 3,000-seat theatrical environment, as well as a buffet dinner, an animal exhibit and shopping. The park is open every day except Thursday from 5:30-11:30 p.m.

Phuket Simon Cabaret

Phuket's ultimate cabaret ladyboy show. The show is distinguished by its outstanding set designs, costumes and glamourous performers. Open daily 6-10:30 p.m.

Splash Jungle Water Park

The park is a water oasis for the entire family, featuring 12 exhilarating water slides, rides and attractions. The park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located just 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport.

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary

Here you can experience getting up close and personal with Asia's gentle giants. It is an opportunity to play with the elephants, enjoy a mud spa and take a bath with them and take a lot of photos. Choose between a morning or afternoon visit that match your plan.

Siam Niramit Phuket

Siam Niramit Phuket is the southern sister to the Bangkok show and is an 80-minute artistic and cultural show of the rich Thai heritage. It’s a well put together show for an introduction to Thai culture, featuring songs, dance routines and traditional martial arts.

Paradise Beach Club

Hop on the free bus from Patong to enjoy the beach during the day, and dance the night away at one of biggest and finest beach clubs in Phuket - Paradise Beach Club. The main beach is where Full and Half Moon parties take place, while guests can also enjoy sports activities - kayaking, paddling, snorkeling, beach volleyball and football.

Kudo Beach Club

Kudo Beach Club, located on the vibrant Patong Beach, is known for its trendy but chilling atmosphere. The club is also known for its beach party with resident DJs playing throughout the day. Hyatt Place Phuket Patong is a 15 minutes stroll along the beach from Kudo.

Café Del Mar

The internationally renowned beach club where guests can expect a standard of Jazz, House and Techno music, international DJ’s and more.; while enjoying bar snacks, burgers, BBQ and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Located on Kamala Beach approximately 15 minutes from the Hyatt Place Phuket Patong, Café Del Mar opens for day and night visits.

Patong is certainly the most popular beach for jet skis. Similar to parasailing, ensure that you agree on the price and have travel insurance cover (just in case) before taking the ride, and you will be ready to catch the waves.


Being well-known as the Pearl of the Andaman Sea makes snorkeling around Phuket something not to be missed with thousands of colourful and beautiful fish, endless beautiful corals. Paradise Beach is one of the most attractive beaches in Phuket for snorkeling. At Jungceylon Shopping Centre, there is a free shuttle service to Paradise Beach. Alternatively, book a tour with one of the many dive operators for an experience further out in the blue.

Muay Thai

Witness the Art of Eight Limbs at the biggest boxing stadium in Phuket – Patong Boxing Stadium, located on Sainamyen Road, close to the Jungceylon Shopping Centre, or experience Thai cultural martial art yourself by joining one of their sessions. Rates vary per day, week or month. The stadium is just around 2.5 kilometres away from the Hyatt Place Phuket Patong.
