In our in-house bakery and butchery, we put the burger on a pedestal. This dedication to our craft gives us the freedom to create small batch burgers whenever inspiration strikes.

Chuy's opened on April 16, 1982 in an old, abandoned Texas Barbeque joint on iconic Barton Springs Road in Austin, TX. There was seating for about sixty, a women's restroom the size of a broom closet and a men's restroom that was, well, outside. Founders Mike Young and John Zapp had a vision of a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that served authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appealed to everyone. From these humble beginnings Chuy's was born.

It all started in 1975 at a little restaurant in Huntsville, Texas. My Mamma Grace came & brought her recipes to help us get started. The same we still use today. Over the last several decades, I have met entertainers, politicians, movie stars, & sports figures. But the greatest folks I have met are the patrons that graced my door day in & day out. They were there to have great Italian food & warm Italian hospitality.
