We are proud to announce a new partnership between Andaz 5th Avenue and Fellow Barber starting December 2021. We will be the first hotel to carry Fellow’s unisex line of expertly crafted products in all of our guestrooms and suites. And in true holiday spirit, we're giving a new spin to the seasonal window display by launching a pop-up barbershop from December 16 - 23 in our street-level artist-in-residence space where frontline workers can receive complimentary cuts from skilled Fellow barbers.
We are also rolling out a slew of insider experiences to celebrate including a secret cocktail in The Bar Downstairs named "The Fellow", exclusive discounts, and the ability for all guests to donate a future cut to a Frontline Worker.
This pop-up space will evoke the one-of-a-kind vibes of a Fellow shop and frontline workers are invited to sign-up for a haircut by visiting www.fellowbarber.com/andaz.
Anyone who isn’t able to snag one of the coveted slots will be able to secure a wooden nickel at the hotel, which can be redeemed at any Fellow Barber location for a haircut at their convenience.
Andaz 5th Avenue is pleased to announce that it has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, Andaz 5th has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facility/facilities.
As the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation, GBAC STAR™ helps organizations establish protocols and procedures, offers expert-led training and assesses a facility’s readiness for biorisk situations. The program verifies that Andaz 5th Avenue implements best practices to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.
“GBAC STAR accreditation empowers facility owners and managers to assure workers, customers and key stakeholders that they have proven systems in place to maintain clean and healthy environments,” said GBAC Executive Director Patricia Olinger. “By taking this important step to pursue GBAC STAR, Andaz 5th Avenue has received third-party validation that it follows strict protocols for biorisk situations, thereby demonstrating its preparedness and commitment to operating safely.”
To achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, Andaz 5th Avenue was required to demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.
