The “Clean and Safe Malaysia” label is the first ever industry wide hygiene and safety certification for Malaysian hotels, developed by MAH ( Malaysia Association of Hotels) and fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia (MOTAC). With Malaysia in the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase and moving towards a new normal, guests can enjoy an even greater peace of mind the next time they visit and dine at Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The hotel is proud to be among one of the first hotels in Malaysia to receive the “Clean and Safe Malaysia” Label in conjunction with Bureau Veritas (BV)
Designed to support the operational restart activities in the hospitality industry nationwide, the certification is part of the "Restart Your Business with BV" programme. The holistic programme was audited by Bureau Veritas’ Health, Safety and Hygiene experts, a world leader with a 192-year legacy in providing testing, inspection and certification services. The Clean and Safe Malaysia Label is awarded to a hotel to certify that the hotel has implemented policies and procedures aligned with local regulatory requirements, good hygiene, health and safety practices which support mitigation of the spread of SARS-CoV-2 (the cause of COVID-19).
A field audit was carried out across all areas of the hotel in July, to ensure the hotel has implemented ample hygiene and safety protocols that meet local and international regulations, as well as global best practices.
In recent months, the hotel has stepped up significantly its measures to keep guests and colleagues safe. These include usage of personal protective equipment such as masks for staff and guests, mandatory temperature screenings for every visitor to the hotel, increased cleaning and disinfection frequency across all areas of the hotel particularly ‘high touch areas’, safe distancing measures implemented across the hotel, contactless guest interactions to be encouraged in hotel, restaurants and facilities and ultra-violet light technology to be utilised.
Said Mr. Bennett Peter, General Manager at Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur Mont Kiara: “At Hyatt, as an international operator, strict operating standards were already in place at the property before Covid-19. Getting an all-clear with a Clean & Safe Malaysia Certification Label is yet another step in the right direction to raise domestic and global confidence through independent auditing of public hygiene standards. We want to position Hyatt as the safe, secure and reliable brand of choice based on safety and wellbeing. We want to create a sense of comfort, confidence and competence where guests can stay with peace of mind. Now, our guests can enjoy even greater peace of mind the next time they visit Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara, knowing that our stringent health and safety protocols have received the endorsement of the Malaysian Government”
