KYRGYZ NATIONAL OPERA AND BALLET THEATRE

Kyrgyz National Opera and Ballet Theater

The Kyrgyz State Opera and Ballet Theater is one of the most iconic buildings in Bishkek, considered as the center of the musical and theatrical culture in Kyrgyzstan. Founded on November 7, 1930; it was the very first European-style building constructed during the Soviet Union in the country Among the years, it has hosted important Russian musicians, composers and artists who incredibly influenced the cultural scene in the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, it presented countless of operas and ballets, such as Swan Lake, La Traviata, Queen of Spades, La Boheme, among others.

Al-Too Square

Located right in the center of Bishkek. Ala Too is the largest square in the city. Built in 1984 to honor the 60th anniversary of the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic. It exhibits a 10-meter statue of the Kyrgyz hero Manas and the Independence monument with the impressive Kyrgyz flag guarded permanently by soldiers. Surrounded by government institutions, soviet monuments and cultural buildings. During summer time, the water fountains and the blossoms create a charming and colorful scene. Reviving the grey buildings of Soviet influence. Highly recommended for an evening walk.

Osh Bazaar

Osh Bazaar was a mandatory stop on the legendary Silk Road through Central Asia. Nowadays, is one of the most popular open-air markets in the Bishkek. It is located 4.5 km away from Hyatt Regency Bishkek, near the Western Bus Station. It offers an authentic glance to the Kyrgyz lifestyle. Locals do not only use Osh Bazaar to market their products, but also use the location to gather and socialize. Everything is available at the bazar: from food, spices, clothes, household goods to souvenirs. Opened daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Easy to reach by taxi.

The Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts

The Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts in Bishkek is located directly opposite of the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater. It opens its doors on January 1, 1935. It is home of different types of fine arts such as paintings, sculptures and crafts. The highlight of the museum is the collection of Kyrgyz fine arts and crafts featuring embroidery, wood carving art and traditional jewelry.

Ala-Archa National Park

Ala Archa alludes to the multicolored juniper trees that adorn the canyon in every direction. Located 41 km from Bishkek, Ala Archa National Park includes all landscape and climatic zones. Issuk Kul Lake

Explore the one of the largest lakes in the world: Issyk Kul. Located on northern Tien Shan, Issyk Kul features sandy beaches, crystal clear water, and dreamlike views of the mountains. The Kyrgyz name, means “Hot Lake,” alluding to the fact that it does not freeze during winter time. It is one of the world's few remaining ancient lakes, estimated to be 25 million years old.

Chunkurchak Gorge

Located in the countryside 40 km from Bishkek, featuring amazing valleys, mountains and waterfalls. Chunkurchak offers vibrant scenery and peaceful surroundings.
