Hotel Operation Updates

The safety and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues is always a top priority at Hyatt Regency Kyoto.

Following Hyatt’s new Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment, we will continue to maintain our extensive hygiene and sanitation measures, including the installation of hand disinfectant dispensers in key locations around the hotel, and cleaning our public spaces, restaurants and bars regularly with the recommended disinfectants. Our associates are wearing face masks, and gloves are being worn in certain areas. We kindly ask all guests to conduct a temperature check upon entry into the property, wear a mask, disinfect their hands and practice social distancing in our facilities.

We will temporarily change the operating hours or suspend the operations at our restaurants and bars from Thursday, October 1, 2020 until further notice as follows:

The Grill (1F) : 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (close)

        Breakfast    7:00 am - 10:30 am

        Lunch   11:30 am – 2:30 pm

        Teatime   2:30 pm – 5:00 pm

        Dinner   Operations have been suspended until further notice.

We are opening “trattoria sette Bar” for a limited time from October 1. You can enjoy authentic Italian wines, cocktails along with our famous pizzas or snacks from trattoria sette. trattoria sette Bar will open from 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm every evening.

Participation in the national “Go To Travel” Campaign (Japan Tourism Agency)

Hyatt Regency Kyoto has been registered as an official hotel operator for the “Go To Travel” campaign of the Japan Tourism Agency.

Residents of Japan staying in the hotel any time after September 1 may be entitled to a subsidy from the Japan Tourism Agency’s “Go To Travel” campaign. Subject to your eligibility and the “Go To Travel” campaign terms and conditions applicable at the time of check-out, the ”Go To Travel” subsidy allowance amount will be deducted directly from your total bill at the time of check out. Please note that your stay may not be eligible if the GoTo Travel campaign has ceased or been suspended by Japan Tourism Agency. For further information regarding “Go To Travel” campaign, please kindly refer to “Go To Travel” Secretariat website (Japanese only).

 For guests that would like to know rates after deduction, please contact the Hyatt global contact center; TEL: 0120 923 299.

・Please note that no discounts are available for stays using any World of Hyatt points.
・As one of the requirements for participation in this campaign, the identity of all guests needs to be checked at the time of check-in. Please present your ID which can prove your residential address (driver's license, etc.).

COVID-19 Countermeasures

Hyatt Regency Kyoto is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation following guidance from the WHO and local authorities. Precautionary measures implemented include increased sanitization of public areas, temporary suspension of buffet service, staff wearing masks and guest temperature checks.

Hyatt Regency Kyoto offers a complimentary one-way taxi ride from JR Kyoto Station.

The offer is valid for all guests who made reservations through the Hyatt Regency Kyoto Reservation Office, the Hyatt Worldwide Reservations Center, and Hyatt.com.

Taxis can be picked up from MK VIP Station Counter, in front of the Hachijo Exit (1F) at JR Kyoto Station, with no advance reservation. Please be advised that the operation hours of MK VIP Station are from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Greetings from the new General Manager
As of September 2018, Robert Hamer assumed the position of General Manager of Hyatt Regency Kyoto. Born in Sydney to Austrian and Australian parents, Robert started his career studying hotel management in Salzburg, Austria. Since joining his first Hyatt at Sanctuary Cove on Australia’s Gold Coast in 1988, Robert has worked for Hyatt International for more than 30 years. After opening Hyatt Hotels in Tokyo, Fukuoka and Hakone as well as working on brand revitalization, he has participated in important missions to Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Shanghai before returning to Japan for the first time in ten years.

"Hyatt Regency Kyoto will be my 6th workplace in Japan. I have traveled several times to Kyoto, but to live and work in such a beautiful place, basking in its amazing history and tradition, is such a great honor. I will continue to protect "the heart of genuine hospitality" cherished by Hyatt Regency Kyoto team and will elevate the charm of the hotel to new heights. I look forward to seeing you in the near future."
