For Marine Conservation

Grand Hyatt Fukuoka values the importance of marine conservation and implements sustainable initiatives to preserve natural resources for the future. In line with these initiatives, we have received the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) CoC (Chain of Custody) certifications (*1) and have started offering sustainable seafood (*2).

*1  MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) CoC (Chain of Custody) certifications:

This certification is designed to ensure that certified seafood will not be mixed with non-certified seafood in the process of certification, processing and distribution.

MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification:

Globally recognized, science-based standards for sustainable fishing and the seafood supply chain set by the Marine Stewardship Council.

ASC(Aquaculture Stewardship Council)certification:

A certification provided by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council toward environmentally and socially responsible farming.

*2  Sustainable seafood:

Seafood sourced from MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certified fisheries and ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) certified farming.

For Responsible Consumption and Production

  • Grand Hyatt Fukuoka is supporting the reduction of plastic footprint and are preparing to reduce the usage of specific plastic items.
  • We use paper straws and wooden muddlers at our restaurant, bars and banquets. Also, wooden cutleries are available at the shop corner of the restaurant.
  • We use “HAVARY'S” paper-packed natural water at banquets.
  • To reduce usage of single-use disposable cups, we have released the original Grand Hyatt Fukuoka tumbler in collaboration with Stojo, a New York-based sustainable brand producing planet-friendly items.
