Hyatt Encourages People to Love The Earth Through Hy Earth Hour
April 2019

Earth Hour is an annual activity that focuses on increasing awareness to save energy including putting out the lights for one hour and is expected to be a lifestyle for people to love the earth more. Hyatt has never been absent in this activity and has led to win the ASEAN Green Hotel Award in 2014 - 2016 and 2018 - 2020.

In connection with Earth Hour which falls on March 30, 2019, Hyatt has held various activity agendas. Previously on Friday, March 29, 2019, Hyatt held a campaign on Earth Hour at Ngaglik Middle School 4. Hyatt invites the younger generation of Ngaglik Middle School 4 to turn off the lights for 1 hour at 8:30 a.m. to 21:30. The purpose of this activity is to raise awareness from an early age about the importance of maintaining and loving the Earth by saving energy. On Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the morning all the Hyatt staff visited Ngaglik Middle School to do a Park Adoption. All of the 4 Ngaglik Middle School Teachers and Students seemed enthusiastic about the program and they also participated to plant their garden to be beautiful again. The Ngaglik 4 Junior High School has now returned to its beauty and this is clear evidence that Hyatt is committed to the preservation of the surrounding environment.

As a top event, at night the Hyatt turns off the lights for 1 hour from 20.30 - 21.30. The entire hotel area was put out for one hour and the candlelight seemed to illuminate the entire hotel area. Guests are invited to participate in this Earth Hour event. During the blackout, Hyatt presented the Ramayana Ballet and Anoman Obong, which guests had been waiting for. They can also enjoy Indonesian food treats which are packaged in the All You Can Eat buffet. Guests who were present that night seemed very enthusiastic and impressed with the initiative carried out by Hyatt. "Earth Hour is a time when we are reminded that Earth needs us to save energy. Our earth is old and needs more awareness from the community to care for it. Of course this is Hyatt's commitment as a Green Hotel to continue to inspire people to care more about the Earth, "concluded Nurcahyadhi, General Manager of Hyatt.
