Hotel Policies

SAFETY FIRST. WELL BEING ALWAYS.

Providing safe and clean environments for our guests and colleagues is always a top priority for Hyatt hotels globally – even more so today. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, and want you to feel at ease when you visit Hyatt hotels, knowing you will experience the quality you expect from the Hyatt brand.

The below precautionary and response measures are helping us continue to provide a safe and clean environment:

Comprehensive COVID-19 guidance is in place at Hyatt hotels globally, detailing how to protect against transmission of the virus (including implementing hand sanitizer stations and frequent cleaning of high-touch areas), and procedures in case there is a suspected or confirmed case among our guests or colleagues.

Cross-functional, global response teams, including infectious diseases and occupational health experts, provide guidance to Hyatt hotels and help address specific needs and situations when needed.

We believe in responsible and safe travel while staying vigilant and following the recommended procedures and protocols by the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local authorities.

Hyatt hotels continue to welcome business and leisure travelers with our established operational excellence and commitment to care.

Minimum Age Policy

The minimum age to reserve a guestroom is 18 years old. A person of the minimum age requirement must be present at check-in and become a registered guest in the room.

Credit Card Policy

A valid credit card must be presented at the time of check-in. The card will be authorized for room, tax and an additional $50 per night for incidentals.

DEBIT CARD USERS: There is a $50 PER NIGHT authorization placed on your card at check-in to account for any incidental charges you may incur including but not limited to food & beverage charges. Funds will be held as a ‘pending charge’ and will be unavailable to you. Any unused authorization is released within 7-10 business days after check out, depending on your banking institution.

Smoking Policy

Hyatt is committed to providing a smoke-free environment. There is no smoking allowed in the public areas of the hotel or the guestrooms. The hotel will apply a $250 + tax cleaning fee to any guestroom that violates this non-smoking policy. We appreciate your consideration for other guests and ask that you report any smoking in the building immediately.

Designated outdoor smoking areas are available. Please visit the Host Stand for details.

Pet Policy

Hyatt Place Gainesville Downtown does not allow pets—with the exception of service animals. For questions about our pet policy, please contact the hotel.

Downtown Noise

We understand that the bustling, vibrant nature of a downtown environment can become a disturbance at times for some. Whether it’s street noise or events happening outside, we have pairs of complimentary earplugs to help alleviate external noise. In addition, the hotel offers white noise machines at the front desk for guests to borrow.

Early Departure Fee

Hyatt Place Gainesville Downtown has an early departure fee of one-night’s room and tax. Departure dates are reconfirmed at check-in and are subject to a fee if changed after the check-in process is completed, unless the hotel is informed 24 hours prior before an early departure.
