Hygiene + Safety


Hyatt Place Dewey Beach is committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness in an effort to ensure our colleagues and guests enjoy a healthy, safe and comfortable environment. 


Guided by its purpose of care, Hyatt recently announced a multi-layered Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment to further enhance its operational guidance and resources around colleague and guest safety and peace of mind:


  • Colleague certification and trainings for hygiene and cleanliness
  • Increased frequency of cleaning with hospital-grade disinfectants on all high-touch surfaces, guestrooms and shared spaces  
  • Implementation of enhanced food safety and hygiene protocols for Sunset Deck (our bayfront restaurant located behind the hotel), room service and group meetings and events
  • Prominently placed hand sanitizer stations throughout hotel public and employee areas and entrances

Exploring purification and sanitization device installation in an effort to ensure enhanced air quality

  • Protective masks and other equipment for hotel colleagues
  • Social distancing guidance in public areas across hotel properties

Additionally, we would like to provide you with an update on a number of hotel services and operations:

Housekeeping: At this time, we appreciate our guests may prefer the opportunity to limit potential contact points with others in their space. As such, we are adjusting standard daily guestroom housekeeping services to provide service every third day during a guest’s stay. If you would like any items during your stay, please contact us directly by dialing 0.  We can remove used items from outside your door and place new ones on your door handle for contactless delivery. 

Sunset Deck: Open for dining, to-go and room service Wednesday – Sunday at 11:30a.  Dining tables are strategically placed 6ft apart to ensure social distancing.  Bar service is available, but all guests must be seated at the bar.  Drinking/eating while standing is prohibited. 

Breakfast: Our inclusive breakfast for each guest is unable by state mandate to be our normal hot and cold breakfast buffet.  As a substitute, we are providing each guest with a To-Go option that includes individually wrapped items served with water, juice, or coffee.  This is available every day from 7a -10a in our atrium next to the front desk. 

Fitness Center: We recognize maintaining a regular fitness and exercise routine is often an integral part of our guests’ stays, but unfortunately our fitness center is closed at this time.

Indoor Swimming Pool: Open from 10a – 8p daily.  All furniture is sanitized with hospital grade disinfectant six times daily.  Limit to 10 people in pool at a time.

Face Masks: The State of Delaware requires each person over the age of 12 to wear a face covering in public places.  This includes the hotel corridors, lobby and restaurant.  Masks are not required when you are walking outside, on the beach or sitting down.

Business Center: Closed until further notice.  If you have any printing needs, please visit the front desk.
