The People’s Liberation Monument, known locally as Jiefangbei, is the only monument to commemorate the Chinese people’s victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Invasion. A central urban landmark of Chongqing, the octagonal structure is 27.5-meters high, with eight floors and 24 windows. The lively pedestrian street that has developed around the Liberation Monument is known as ‘The First Pedestrian Street of West China’ and defines Chongqing’s commercial heart.
Yangtze River Cableway500m
Riding the cableway above the Yangtze River is a unique Chongqing experience and insight into the city’s urban development. It was built in the 1980s to enable efficient transport between Yuzhong and Nan'an districts and affords spectacular views as you drift across its 1,166-meter span.

At the tip of the Yuzhong Peninsula where the muddy Yangtze River meets the clear green waters of Jialing River, Chaotian Gate is the only remaining city gate and Chongqing's chief wharf on the Jialing River.
