Badaling Great Wall

Kangxi Praire

Discover the restorative powers of refreshing green grasslands and vast azure skies at Beijing’s largest prairie, located just 30 minutes’ drive from the hotel. Covering an area of 5,436 acres, the grasslands are brightly colored with flowers during spring. Yudu Mountain

Wild Duck (Yeya) Lake

The only wetland reserve for birds in Northern China, Yeya Lake covers 6,873 hectares and is home to more than 264 species of migratory birds, including grey cranes and swans. The best times to visit are early Spring and mid-late Autumn when large numbers of water birds visit the lake.

Shijinglong Ski Resort

The largest and most well-appointed ski resort in the greater Beijing area, Shijinglong is located near scenic Longqing Gorge and offers diverse terrains for both novice and veteran skiers. The resort has seven ski runs from amateur to expert. The beginners’ ski run is over 3,000 meters long with an average slope of 10 degrees, while the most challenging slope is over 1,000 meters with a pitch of 300 meters. There is also a separate snowboarding park and hot springs within the resort.

Songshan Forest Park

The only forest park in northern China under state protection, Songshan Forest Park covers 4,660 hectares and peaks at an altitude of 2,199 meters of lush valleys, gorges, rock formations, ancient trees, waterfalls and hot springs.

Longqing Gorge

Known as the Little Three Gorges and accessed via a 258-metre yellow dragon-shaped escalator, this scenic canyon offers a variety of adventures, including an open top boat cruise, a cable car and bungee jumping from the mountain peak. During winter, an Olympics-themed Ice Lantern Festival enlivens the magical landscape.
