Andaz West Hollywood has made a significant change at the hotel for our guests and also for our planet. Starting in February we will begin to transition away from the use of plastic water bottles both in the lobby and in our guestrooms. Currently, our hotel contributes to over 300,000 plastic water bottles per year and we want to create a more responsible and sustainable way to operate moving forward.
We have installed water filtration machines on every guestroom floor along with several baskets of 1-liter carafes available for your use throughout your stay. These carafes will be located next to the water machines on each floor.
Over the next twelve months, we will be transitioning away from plastic guestroom keys, single-use bath amenities and plastic packaging from our food and beverage outlets with the hope of distributing almost no plastic at our hotel by year-end.
Andaz West Hollywood, the most iconic music hotel on the famed Sunset Strip, has been selected as one of five hotels worldwide to feature ‘The Keith Collection’ limited edition boxes produced by Fender. The five limited edition boxes will be displayed in some of the world’s top Rock ‘n’ Roll hotels including the Karma Sanctum Soho in London, 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, L’Hotel in Paris, O.D. BARCELONA and Andaz West Hollywood in Los Angeles. Andaz West Hollywood will have the limited-edition Deluxe Box Set on display in the hotel lobby beginning March 27th for 8 weeks.
‘The Final Five’ boxes are pieces of art with a real-wood case that was hand-built and aged by Fender, using the same materials as Keith’s iconic vintage telecaster, Micawber. It takes 37 Fender staff to complete each box, plus an additional 11 different suppliers of parts and services: from corrugated boxes to graphics on the chrome control plate, to the sawmill cutting the ash. It takes 2 weeks to produce each box with the first box taking about 4 months and 20 different prototypes to get each part correct.
‘The Final Five’ Fender deluxe box set will be on display for 8 weeks beginning March 27th. The 30th Anniversary edition of Keith Richards ‘Talk Is Cheap’ will be available in various formats from March 29th. Follow the hotel on Instagram and Twitter at @AndazWeHo.
