Hotel Experience & General Information
Check-in begins at 3 PM.
Upon check-in, your card will be authorized for $100 per room (plus tax), per stay. This charge may appear on your debit or credit card for up to two weeks post-departure. Additionally, depending on the rate used to book the stay, you may be authorized for the entire cost of stay + the $100 incidentals authorization.
Check out is noon.
We always try to accommodate early check-ins. Let us know when you are arriving and we’ll do our best to get you into your room early. We recommend calling our front desk on the morning of your arrival to get the best estimate as to if an early check-in can be accommodated. Our front desk can be reached at (512) 852-2350.
If you need a little extra time getting out, let us know. We will do our best to give you some more time, and we can always hold onto your bags while you explore.
Of course. Just let the front desk know and we’ll provide a ticket for your bag.
You must be 21 or older and present a valid ID to check in.
Our lounge opens at noon daily and closes at 10 PM Sunday – Thursday, 12 AM Friday and Saturday. We offer room service delivered to your room or available to be enjoyed in our courtyard, daily from 7 to 11 AM.
You don’t need to make a reservation at the Lounge, it’s first come, first serve. If you have a large group and would like us to reserve a table let us know.

Rooms & Amenities
Yes! Our entire property is open to guests of all ages. There must be someone 21 or older present to check in.
Yes. We have pack-n-plays available for no extra cost during your stay. Talk to the front desk to have this set up for you prior to your arrival.
All rooms include bath amenities, bluetooth speakers, a hairdryer, a fully stocked minibar, iron or steamer upon request, and a set of our iconic Hotel San José robes.
We offer a number of amenities upon request, as well. Feel free to ring our front desk and request use of our typewriter or polaroid camera during your stay.
Our housekeeping team will swing by midmorning to early afternoon to offer Stayover Service upon request! Each room is equipped with a wooden door hanger embossed with “YES PLEASE” on one side, and “NO THANKS” on the other. Should you want your room serviced, simply place the hanger on your door handle with “YES PLEASE” facing outward!
If you find yourself staying two or more nights with us, our housekeeping team will stop by in the early evening for complimentary Turn-Down Service! During this, you will receive a pitcher of filtered water, a stick of Horikawa River Path incense, and a room refresh to help set the mood for your nighttime wind down.
Of course, address below. If you can let us know if you are planning on receiving anything, we can make sure it arrives safely. If anything arrives for you before you check-in, we’ll hold it at the front desk. We are only able to hold packages for 3 days before or after your reservation. Please ensure the name on your package matches the name on your reservation.

Property management will ask any non-approved photography to cease immediately.
Parking, Travel & Transportation
We are located at 1316 South Congress Avenue. You can enter via the entrance to our parking lot, located on the corner of South Congress Avenue and James Street.
Right here. We offer self-parking in our private parking lot. Please make sure to register your vehicle with the front desk at check-in.
Guest parking is charged through your reservation and is $30/night. Our lot is available for non-guest parking at $10/hour and is charged through a scannable QR code located at each entrance/exit of the lot. There’s also paid street parking available in the area.
Yes, We have two EV chargers in our lot. These chargers are first-come-first-serve and are available for both guests and locals.

Probably. At Bunkhouse we love a good reason to get together. Check out our Events page to explore what’s happening while you are in town.
Yes. The pool is available to guests between 8 AM – 10 PM (12 AM on Friday & Saturday). We ask that you limit your guests at the pool to no more than the number of people that can comfortably sleep in the room you have booked (2-4, depending on the room).
Hotel San José does not offer pool passes for non-guests. Should you find yourself in the market for a pool pass, we implore you to check out our sister property right down the street, Austin Motel.
Outside food and drinks are prohibited at the pool. However, we offer food and drink options brought right to your chair from our lounge.
No, but we offer fitness kits that include free weights, resistance bands, yoga mats, etc. available for use during your stay. Call or come by the front desk to pick one up. There are also a number of gym options available on South Congress and nearby neighborhoods.
No, but we know of several great options in the area. Ask the front desk for recommendations.
Our individually curated retail shops are worth a visit on their own. We offer a host of signature souvenirs, thoughtfully sourced local goods, and one-of-a-kind finds. Save room in your suitcase or if you decide you want something after the fact, our online shop is always open.
Our Front Desk is happy to offer suggestions and help you fill your days with the best our hometown has to offer. Just ask.

Pets
Yes! Well-behaved dogs are always welcome (for a small $20 fee). Pack your pup and we’ll supply a bed, bowl, and maybe a treat or two for your best friend. Unfortunately, non-dog pets can not be accommodated.
Booking & Policies
For payment, we accept American Express, Discover Card, Mastercard, or Visa.
Plans change. If yours do, we just ask that you let us know by 6 PM local hotel time at least 2 days prior to your reservation to avoid a fee (equal to one night’s stay plus tax).
During peak times and depending on your reservation, our policies may vary, so please refer to the policies specific to your reservation. These can be found during the booking process and in your reservation confirmation email.
We will need to secure your booking with a credit or debit card up front. The cost of that deposit may vary and during peak times we may require the full cost of your reservation up front— but the remainder of your payment will be charged upon check-out unless stated otherwise. Please check the exact policies for your reservation while booking.
Reservations are guaranteed with a valid credit card at the time of booking. We’ll ask you to verify the payment details upon check-in.
We have a 17% occupancy tax.
