NEWS AND INFORMATION
Travel Agent Golden Rules
- Hyatt Hotels & Resorts commits to training our employees to understand the complex nature of the travel agency business and be sensitive to the client-travel agent relationship.
- All commissions are to be paid promptly on a monthly basis through our central processing center on stays that have been completed. Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites will pay commission up to the first 29 nights of a guest's stay.
- All published rates and packages available to the general public are commissionable at 10%. Please note that Hyatt International Hotels do not pay commission on awards. Please see "Additional Information" for any exceptions.
- Travel agents are to be advised at time of booking if confirmed rate is a non-commissionable rate. Additionally, all non-commissionable rates available through the GDS are noted as such in the DRS.
- Hotel staff will never initiate the subject of changing the rate initially confirmed to the travel agency and therefore their client. However, if the client requests a different rate, and is eligible for such, Hyatt's staff will accommodate the client's request. If the new rate is commissionable, commission will be paid to the travel agent from the initial booking.
- Hotel will pay commission on additional nights the guest stays before and after the original reservation, as long as the guest is paying a commissionable rate.
- With the exception of natural disasters, commissions are to be paid on all confirmed reservations the hotel has to relocate. This policy applies regardless if the guest was relocated in advance or upon arrival at the front desk.
- Hyatt commits to data integrity through all distribution sources.
- Hyatt commits to making the booking process as easy as possible by providing full rate, inventory and descriptive information and by staying in step with leading edge technology.
- On Hyatt.com bookings, AAA Rates, Senior Rates and Government Rates require appropriate identification at time of check-in matching original booking information. Hyatt does not pay commissions on Government Rates.
