Thomsons Restaurant

Setting

Undeniably authentic

In 1893, Melville Patrick Thomson and James Arthur Thomson built one of Calgary's earliest sandstone buildings. While it originally housed the Thomson brother's bookstore, this building is now home to Thomsons Restaurant and the Sandstone Lounge.

The history of the building permeates every nook of the restaurant and lounge but there is also a contemporary feel encouraged by sleek hardwood floors and unique fixtures. The result is striking - an inviting, fresh space with a timeless presence.

You will also be entranced by the incredible collection of Canadian Art that adorns both the lounge and the restaurant.

Convenience

When it comes to convenience, nothing compares to Thomsons Restaurant.

As part of Hyatt Regency Calgary, we are able to offer our guests free parking in the underground hotel lot. Simply have your ticket validated by your server. And, of course, the spectacular accommodation of Calgary's best hotel is right upstairs.

We're located in the heart of downtown Calgary - steps from theatres, the philharmonic, galleries and shopping. As we're in the midst of the business centre, we're within easy reach for business lunches or casual meetings.

Most theatres and attractions can be accessed through indoor connections from the Hyatt to keep you warm and dry in inclement weather. When the days are warmer, our location on Stephen Avenue Walk encourages a casual stroll on Calgary's pedestrian mall.

Finally, Thomsons can quickly accommodate reservations ranging from table for two to parties of 200. Our banquet experience and hotel facilities enable us to provide discreet and capable service for larger groups without compromising our other guests.
