THE RENOVATION

All guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and elevator landings went through complete demolition and were stripped down to nothing in order to provide a bare canvas on which to build upon. The newest guest rooms in Chicago now feature brand new Hyatt Grand Beds, wall coverings, carpet, window treatments, chairs, soft goods, artwork, lighting, and 2 category 6A cables per room. A contemporary color scheme with contrasting warm and cool gray and orange hues is used in various textures throughout the room. Striking black and white photography etched on glass and showcasing unique aspects of the city adorn the walls. As an added enhancement, 826 of the hotel's 924 two-bedded guest rooms have been transitioned to feature two queen-size beds instead of double beds. The complete overhaul of guest bathrooms created an elegant yet modern residential aesthetic though the installation of all new toilets, tubs, showers, sinks, vanities, mirrors, fixtures, tile, enhanced lighting, and wall covering. Corridor ceilings were removed to allow for the installation of new plumbing supply lines, and brand new HVAC units were installed in every room. New wall coverings, carpeting, lighting, ceilings, elevator landing tile, and artwork were also installed in the guest room corridors.
